Celebrating Bold Street is this weekend, and some of the city’s best independents are currently gearing up to showcase their best products and culinary delights on one of Liverpool’s most iconic streets.
Every year we celebrate one of our most beloved streets, Bold Street. Kicking-off at 10am this Sunday 7 July; visitors are guaranteed to be spoilt for choice when it comes to the food and drink on offer, but with so many options to choose from, making a decision on where to dine will certainly be difficult. Here are 10 things you can check out.
Offering everything from succulent burgers to a sizzling Lebanese barbecue and delicious Indian street food on Bold Street, here’s ten of the independents that you simply cannot afford to miss at Celebrating Bold Street…
Bundobust
One of the latest additions to the Bold Street family, Bundobust will be serving up one of their signature dishes the ‘Bundo Chaat’ on Sunday! Consisting of layers of samosa pastry, chickpeas, tamarind chutney and yoghurt; this dish will surely be one of the highlights of Celebrating Bold Street.
El Pecado
Serving up ‘small plates of heaven’ El Pecado may mean ‘sin’ in Spanish, but its food is simply angelic! Dishing up classic contemporary Spanish dishes, the restaurant will be offering a special Tapas menu on Sunday, as well as a number of one-off cocktails, which can be savoured outside.

Gelatizmo Cafe
One of Bold Street’s newest establishments, Gelatizmo Cafe is the place to be for a taste of Italian gelato. With outdoor seating available for those looking for a bite to eat in the sunshine, the cafe is giving customers the chance to receive a small tub of ice cream for FREE when they purchase any pizza.
Honest Burgers
Coming soon to Bold Street, the guys from Honest Burgers will be giving customers a first glimpse of what they can expect when the restaurant opens later this summer; with the Honest Burgers van dishing out mouth-watering burgers throughout the day right up until 6pm.
Kasbah
One of Liverpool’s most cherished restaurants, Kasbah will be extending their seating area and putting on a special BBQ for their customers to mark Celebrating Bold Street in style, so make sure you don’t miss this one.
LEAF
Alongside their usual daily menu which has been a staple diet of many a foodie over the years, LEAF will be serving thirst-quenching summer-inspired drinks at their venue this Sunday… delightful!

Nolita Cantina
Celebrating Independents’ Week right through to July 7, Nolita Cantina is offering 10% off your food bill, if you quote ‘Independents Week’ when you ask for your bill! Not only that, there’ll also be outdoor seating in front of the venue on Sunday, so you burger lovers can enjoy your food, while taking in all the other fab stuff taking place on Bold Street throughout the day.
PHO
Located in the heart of Bold Street, PHO has put together their very own Celebrating Bold Street menu for the occasion, they will also be handing out tantalising on-street samples of some of their classic dishes. There will also be food available to buy from outside the venue throughout the day, so if Vietnamese food is your food of choice, make sure you stroll by.
Soul of Bold Street
One of the oldest restaurants on Bold Street, Soul of Bold Street has a packed agenda this Sunday, with special offers available; not to mention the cool beats of Roger Brazilica playing from the DJ decks from 2.30pm!
The Little Shoe Bold Street
One of Bold Street’s most popular venues, The Little Shoe will be giving away vouchers and promotional cards throughout the day; so don’t miss out on your chance to receive fantastic discounts for evening bookings!
And for music lovers…
As well as the exceptional food on offer, soundtracking the event will be Bido Lito!, showcasing a selection of the best up and coming music talent from Liverpool’s vibrant music scene, including some of the artists from Merseyrail Sound Station project, with live performances 11-4pm in Ropewalks Square opposite FACT.
Celebrating Bold Street will also include family-friendly entertainment and animation, sure to wow the crowds. The event is the culmination of the BID’s Independents’ Week (July 1-7), a campaign to engage local independent businesses, employees and visitors in celebrating the entrepreneurial spirit of Liverpool’s growing independent business community.
