10 Liverpool high street stores you need to visit in 2020
5 years ago
Shopping online might win for convenience (and being able to buy without actually getting dressed) but sometimes it’s hard to beat the personal experience you get on the high street.
Browsing, trying on, or just getting advice on what’s new or what suits you best – it’s the hands-on advantage that can make all the difference.
Liverpool’s retail heart is made up of a fantastic mix of independents and big national names that are constantly changing and being added to.
Go into town and it always seems busy, but it’s a tough time for stores so we should use them or risk losing them. Do your bit to save Liverpool’s high street – here are 10 stores you need to visit in our city centre this year …
Kate Spade New York
Still not shifted the extra Christmas pounds? Not to worry, there’s one thing that always fits – a new handbag! Kate Spade New York opened in Liverpool ONE in December and it’s packed with lust-worthy luxury bags with the distinctive Kate Spade gold lettering. New Year, new bag – that’s a thing, right?

Cricket is an absolute legend of a shop for Liverpool label lovers, and it’s a go-to for anyone wanting to get their hands on the most sought-after collections from the runways of New York, Paris, Milan and London. After almost 20 years in Cavern Walks, it’s now settled in its new MetQuarter home.

Morphe
Make-up purists swear by US brand Morphe and the Liverpool store is so huge it’s like one giant beauty playground. Liverpool was chosen for the brand’s third shop in the UK because it’s got such a big loyal fanbase here and it’s a not-to-miss for professional-grade brushes, accessories and palettes.

Oliver Bonas
Another (nearly) newbie in Liverpool ONE, we were late to the Oliver Bonas party – there were already 70 stores before ours – but now the British lifestyle brand has finally made it here with stylishly curated picks for fashion, jewellery, homeware and accessories and new designs in store every week.

Jo Malone
Jo Malone fragrances are a real treat (perfumes or those candles on everyone’s wish list) and the stand-alone boutique on St Peter’s Lane is the perfect place to try lots out and find your own signature scent. The black and cream wrapping is gorgeous too if you’re buying a gift (even if it’s from you to you!).

Cass Art
Thinking about taking up a new hobby or maybe picking up an old one again? Art is a great way to relax, even if you’re not that great at it, and Cass Art on School Lane has everything for anyone who fancies sketching or painting, plus the staff are super-friendly art lovers themselves and happy to help.

Lush
Anyone following their nose down Church Street won’t need to be told that Lush is at home there, and what a home it is – the world’s biggest, crammed with bath bombs (there’s actually room for 9 million!) and other fabulous cosmetic creations. There’s a HairLab and Spa too for extra indulgence.

Beauty Bazaar Harvey Nichols
Just stepping into Beauty Bazaar is the best reminder why the high street can beat online if it gets it right. Even though it’s got got the glamour, Beauty Bazaar never feels Mean Girls unapproachable. Three floors of the best brands, treatments and the WOW Bar for a fizz while you’re loving those buys.

Kids Cavern
Another long-standing Liverpool favourite that’s moved into the MetQuarter – if your little ones have the same designer wardrobe as you (or even better) then Kids Cavern has labels like Kenzo, Balmain, Gucci, Burberry and Armani Baby … because you’re never too young to be a dedicated fashionista.
