10 reasons why Dough Dough is Liverpool’s hottest new destination for pizza & cocktails
2 years ago
They might have been forced to put plans on hold but now it’s ‘ready, steady…dough!’ for Liverpool’s latest pizzeria.
The fabulous Dough Dough has finally opened, and they can’t wait to welcome everyone to a slice of Neopolitan perfection.
Dean Frear, marketing executive for Dough Dough, says it’s been a frustrating time for the team.
“We were supposed to open in September 2020 but then that had to be pushed back because of restrictions,” says Dean. “We managed to open for about four days between Christmas and New Year before we had to close.
“It was a bit stop-start and, like others, we had set backs we couldn’t do anything about.
“BUT,” he adds, “that’s given us time to get everything absolutely right, so we can give people a great night (or afternoon) out in the city. And it means we’re happier than ever to be here – and we can’t wait to see everyone.”
If you don’t know Dough Dough, which has restaurants in Chester and Warrington, you’re in for a treat. It’s got more than just ‘the best Neopolitan pizza in the north west’, and here’s 10 reasons why you need to check it out…
1. Perfect pizzas
Okay, so it is about more than just pizzas but, starting with the pizzas, they are GOOD. They’re freshly-made and created with a signature dough which gives them a delicious puffed-up crust. Loaded with tons of different tasty toppings, they’re cooked to perfection in wood-fired ovens. (Of course there are great starters, lighter bites and desserts too).
2. There’s tons of space
Dough Dough is set across two floors opposite Central Station in Ranelagh Street, so there’s loads of room to spread out and stay safe, and you’re always in with a great chance of getting a table.
3. Game on
It’s fun and games on the first floor with retro-style arcade games and their own Foosball Table (the Italians just love it – and so will you!).
4. Did someone say cocktails?
As well as all your classic favourites like Pornstar Martinis and Cosmos, bar manager Jared – who’s got years of experience running bars – has spent months creating some of the best and most original cocktails around, so you’re in for something a little bit special. Dean recommends the Fiori, a lavender-scented cocktail with ‘Sweet Aromas of a Tuscan Garden’. Who needs to be abroad?
5. Craft beers
Dough Dough’s got a range of delicious craft beers from some of the UK’s most exciting breweries including, of course, some of the city’s own, all hand-selected to complement the food. Some of the freshest beer around, your pint at Dough Dough is poured directly from the tank – meaning it doesn’t touch the air until it hits your glass. Nice.
6. Dough Dough is about fun and friends
That means you don’t have to run off the minute you’ve cleared your plate and, if you don’t want to eat, you’re welcome to just go in for a coffee and catch-up or a cocktail evening with the girls.
7. Delicious deli
Dough Dough’s got its own deli, freshly baking bread and paninis which are also available to take away, along with a superb salad menu offering more than a hint of the Med.
Dough Dough’s vegan products have been certified by the Vegan Society who spend months trailing back every ingredient to source before giving it their stamp of approval.
9. Bottomless brunches
We all love a good bottomless brunch and there’s pizza and prosecco and more at Dough Dough.
10. Last but not least – live music and events: Friday and Saturday entertainment includes a DJ playing all your favourites and, when restrictions allow, Dough Dough will be putting on live music events as well as open mic nights for local talent. Well, we did say it was more than just ‘damn fine pizza’!
