10 reasons why you should get your tickets booked for Neighbourhood Weekender in May
3 years ago
Advertorial
It’s time to celebrate with just over three months before one of the North Westâs biggest and best-loved indie festivals is back.
Neighbourhood Weekender is returning to Victoria Park in Warrington for an amazing weekend of live music from May 28-29 – and, if you want to make sure youâre right in the thick of it and having the greatest time, you need to get your tickets sorted.
And if you need a little nudge (although weâd like to askâŚWHY?!!) hereâs 10 reasons to get booking now.
1. We’ve missed festivalsÂ
Okay, so we probably donât need to tell you this, but the lack of festivals over the last couple of years has left us all a little low. There are few other events that unite a crowd so brilliantly, bringing together a bunch of like-minded music lovers who want to relax, chill and listen to their favourite artists – and discover new people and bands. You canât beat the friendly atmosphere and the energy-filled vibe. Music, food, and friendly folkâŚeverything about it is to love.Â
2. The location, only 18 miles from Liverpool
You donât have to travel for miles down south, this fab festival is right on your doorstep. Neighbourhood Weekender takes place in Victoria Park in Warrington which means, if youâre driving, itâll take less than three-quarters of an hour to get there and thereâs parking on site. The Big Green Coach is also back as official travel partner offering a service across the region with 14 pick-up points, including Liverpool.
3. The headlinersÂ
Need we say more, there are some great headliners this year, including the Courteeners who fittingly return after headlining the inaugural event in 2018, meaning that 2022 is going to be special. As well as them, youâve got the award-winning Kasabian ready to rock it out of the park after a series of smaller, more intimate events, and the brilliant pop sound of the Stockportâs finest, the Blossoms.
4. The Liverpool locals
Not surprisingly, thereâs a few – and you wonât be disappointed. One of the best musicians to come out of the city, the straight-talking Jamie Webster, leads the local line up, still buoyed by the top ten success of his debut album We Get By which gave us the superb Weekend In Paradise – which Neighbourhood will be! – and delighted with his second album, Moments. Heâs joined in the festival stalls by the Red Rum Club, and the âIndie Britney Spearsâ, Pixey.
5. You can go posh with VIP access
If you fancy doing it âfancyâ, then join the VIP Club! VIP ticket holders will have access to a private area with extra-special facilities – weâre talking flushing toilets for a start! – and in between watching some of the best artists around, they will be able to enjoy a comfy relaxation area and take a break from the hustle and bustle of the crowds. Theyâll also have access to a private, undercover bar as well as unique food venders, and some of the best views of the biggest acts via a main stage viewing platform.Â
6. Becky Hill is playing!
And how much do we love her – not least because of her humility and genuine joy when she won this yearâs Brit Award for Best Dance Act?! Sheâs gone from being a âlittle drum and bass raverâ to one of the best acts around, and collaborating with top names like Shift K3Y, Sigala and David Guetta. Get ready to partyâŚ
7. Easy to get there with regular trains from Liverpool to Warrington Central, just 22 mins
Need we say more! If you donât fancy getting in the car, just get the train to Warrington Central. Youâll be there before you know it and thereâs a five-minute bus service – Number 11 and 11a – which takes five minutes from Warrington Bus Interchange (located at Warrington Central train station) to Knutsford Road Victoria Park, or itâs just a 20-minute walk.
8. The Bootleg Beatles are on
Without a doubt the worldâs âpremier Beatles bandâ and you canât beat a bit of the Fab Four to get everyone singing and in the mood to have fun. The lads know how to bring the legendary back catalogue of The Beatles to life, and you can bet theyâll add to the feel-good-factor found throughout Neighbourhood Weekender. All You Need Is Love – and these guys!
9. Indie legends like theseâŚ
Neighbourhood never fails to lure some legends to its stages and this year is no different. Starsailor will be riding the music waves on Saturday, with the Manic Street Preachers offering A Design For Life on Sunday, along with Razorlight whoâll be ready to Rip It Up with their anthemic sounds while festivalgoers roar for more.
10. The sun will be shining (we hope!)
Oh we really do! May 2021 was the fourth-wettest ever recorded in the UK but so much has changed since last year and, with luck, the weather will be one of those things. Fingers crossed itâll be brighter by the minute and, if it isnât? Well, itâll take more than a bit of rain and mud to stop us enjoying Neighbourhood Weekender. Come rain or shine, itâs going to be amazing!
