10 soft play centres across Liverpool that you can bring the kids along to this month

After being ‘locked up’ in lockdown, kids can’t wait to go wild and let off steam, and there’s loads of fab kids’ play centres in and around Liverpool just waiting to give them the chance.
Here’s our top 10 places you can book now (or turn up to on the day!)…
Imagine That! Science and Discovery Centre
It will be May 22 before Imagine That! – once Underwater Street – opens its doors again but you can book online now to make sure you’re first in the queue when it does. It can’t wait to get people back in.
The Wavertree Technology Park kids’ play centre features arts and crafts, science workshops and an Imagination Village including a construction zone, lots of shops, an American diner and theatre, a pet rescue and car wash and loads more.

Bubbles World of Play, New Brighton
It’s got the largest play frame in the UK, and Bubbles is aimed at tiny kids to the up-to-11s and is as fun as it’s educational (and it helps to keep them fit).
Children can explore more than 30 different countries and zones, from the Sydney Harbour Bridge to the Northern Lights, and its busy city role-play area has a police station, vets, a shop and more! The New York-themed baby & toddler area’s got challenges and sensory objects designed to keep tiny people happy for hours too with an interactive projector with different games to play, a talking penguin maze, ball cannon zone and tons more.

Spaceworld, Prescot
Another fab soft play area which can’t wait to launch back into action on May 17 is Spaceworld, just off the Cables Retail Park in Prescot.
It’s got an 8000 sq ft of state-of-the-art play frame, split into 3 zones over 4 tiers (‘which we are told is pretty amazing’), a 20ft Space Rocket you can climb, look-out tubes you can sit in, a wavy four lane astraslide, a 25ft spiral slide, an elevated football pitch …and tons more, including a toddler zone and electric Space Buggies for budding Formula 1 drivers.

Funtown Indoor Play Centre, Garston
Funtown on Speke Road wants everyone to have a great time – including mums and dads. It combines soft play with tons of fun with a wholesome family restaurant and comfortable viewing area, so you can sit back and relax while the kids have the time of their lives.
There are tunnels, slides, ball pits, climbing frames and an obstacle course – and there’s a special toddler section for the under threes.

The Yellow Sub Play Centre, Brunswick Park
Definitely a place to get submerged in fun and it’s making a splash again from May 17 – no need to book, just turn up on the day.
There’s a range of activities from a massive play frame – suitable for children up to 12 years old and up to 4ft 9in height – a football pitch and arcade, and a toddler section so the smaller people can have fun on their own.
It’s got a great coffee shop and restaurant with everything from pizzas to burgers and tasty filled wraps – well, with all that’s going on, they’ll need to refuel at some point.

Jungle Fun Activity Centre, Belle Vale
Your little monkeys will go wild when they find out they can have a grrreat time at Jungle Fun again from May 17.
Its recently refurbished state-of-the-art play centre has been crafted to ensure it caters for all ages with the emphasis on children’s development, communication and interaction skills. There are two areas, one of which is dedicated to under 5-year-olds, so whether your child is a crawler, toddler, climber or slider they can get fit and have fun.

Crazy Town, Aintree
Crazy Town is re-opening its doors from May 17, with all party packages resuming as normal from June 21 – and you can book it all now.
So get ready to go wild again on the huge climbing frame, strut your stuff at the Friday Disco* or join in the fun and activities on toddler morning sessions*, or relax in the Cozy Lounge.

Spring City Trampoline Park, Brunswick Business Park
From toddlers to teens, an hour bouncing around at Spring City is a great way to burn off steam, no matter what age your kids are.
The park, home to almost 100 trampolines, basketball nets, dodge ball courts and a café offering fab food and drink, is springing back into action from May 19, but you can bounce into action and book any time from now.

Family & Friends Play Centre, Prescot
The Evans Street Family and Friends is as much aimed at mums and dads as it is at the little kids, aiming to create a unique communal hub where parents and guardians can socialise, share info and enjoy great coffee while the children are inspired, stimulated and learning through play.
There’s a brill role play village and soft play for the 0-5s, a reading tree and scheduled activities, and it will be open again from May 17.

Adventureland, New Brighton
Toddlers to twelves (a 5′ maximum height restriction applies) can look forward to fun at Adventureland from May 17 onwards – and there’s loads of new stuff to enjoy like a disco room with music, smoke and laser lighting, a football area to shoot and score goals, and giant inflatables from America including a including a huge bouncy rainbow slide and a pirate ship that’s being wrestled by a giant octopus!
That’s on top of all the usual soft play, snakes and ladders, ropes. the Adventure Castle and…. Just where do you start?!
