3.Now here’s a top bit of trivia for you! Did you know that the airport was the first UK airport to be named after a person? Officially named after one of the city’s most famous sons, it became Liverpool John Lennon Airport back in 2002. We’re such trend setters!
4.Speaking of destinations, did you know that Liverpool John Lennon Airport now flies to Marrakesh and New York? Passengers en route to NYC can also pre-clear US customs which means no queueing stateside thanks to AerLingus! Bonus!
5.Did you know Liverpool John Lennon Airport had a bit of a make-over last year. With a huge investment boost, the airport invited the big man himself to unveil the new improvements. No, not Klopp! Father Christmas! He made an unscheduled stop back in December 2015 to unveil brand spanking new carpets throughout the terminal and toilet facilities for passengers. What a Christmas present!
6.Despite World Duty Free shopping stocking a huge array of cosmetics, sunglasses and sweets and alcohol (we hear there’s limited edition coconut Toblerone!), did you know you can reserve and collect your duty free items up to a month before you fly? Ideal for buying gifts. More info here.
7.Travelling with kids can be challenging! Did you know Liverpool John Lennon Airport offer a range of services to make your journey through the airport as easy as possible? The family fast-track car park has larger than average spaces to safely unload everyone and everything and is situated right next to the departure hall to save little ones lugging cases through the multi-storey!
8.Not everyone is a fan of flying. Did you know that due to its riverside location, Liverpool John Lennon Airport has a weather record better than tonnes of other airports, being less susceptible to high wind, fog and snow! Less turbulence, more smooth landings, phew!
