11 Liverpool pubs to enjoy a Christmas day bevie

If the men in your family don’t have a Christmas day pint…..is it even Christmas?

It’s the scouse way isn’t it? Done the presents, devoured your full English, dressed up in your best shirt and new jeans and check out which Liverpool pubs are open for a Christmas day pint….or two. Inevitably the fellas are always late back and your mum has a little fume because the turkey’s going cold, but hey, it’s Christmas!

We’re firm fans of this scouse tradition here at The Guide Liverpool and so we’re rounded up 11 Liverpool pubs to enjoy a festive bev on Christmas day…..

1 – The Elephant Pub & Bakehouse

Located on Woolton Street, this is the go to pub on Christmas day for L25 dwellers. While it has the laidback feeling of a pub, it looks more like a sleek restaurant once inside. So if you’re after for a bustling, cheerful atmosphere this Christmas, head down for drinks between 12 and 7pm.

2 – The Northern Western, Wetherspoons.

Can you ever really go wrong with a Wetherspoons? The Northern Western, located on Lime Street promises a warm welcome to anybody who comes along for a bev or two in town. Cheap and cheerful cocktails? A perfectly poured Guinness or even a cheeky Baileys while the turkey is in, the pub is open from 11am to 3pm.

3 – The Stanley Arms

As part of the massive chain, Sizzling Pubs, The Stanley Arms is not just promising lots of ale this Christmas, but is also the only place on this list that is serving food too! So if cooking isn’t your forte, head down to Roby Road and to try the new festive menu. The pub opens to the public from 12pm onwards.

4 – The Baltic Fleet

Located in the Baltic Triangle, this popular Liverpool pub has some of the best bar staff around, who always go above and beyond to make sure their customers are happy. There’s more than 30 different gins on offer this winter so get down for 12pm and sample a few before your dinner. The bar is open til 3pm.

5 – Bear & Staff

Take a wander to the heart of Gateacre Village for your Christmas Day drinks this year as the Bear & Staff pub throws open it’s doors to the masses from 12pm until 3pm. There’s still a few places are available if you fancy a Christmas dinner there too!

6 – The Caledonia

The Caledonia, on Caledonia Street is a great little pub which boasts real ale and live music. Dressed up the festive nines, the fun kicks off at 12pm with a bit of karaoke and a pint. What more could you ask for!?

7 – The Willowbank

As Liverpool pubs go, The Willowbank will likely be the loudest on Christmas Day. Smithdown Road will be bursting with festive cheer as The Willowbank welcomes Christmas day revellers from 12pm until 5pm. So whether you fancy a pint before or after your dinner, you’re welcome to raise a glass here.

8 – The Belvedere

Why not enjoy a Christmas day pint in the heart of the Georgian quarter in a pub that is steeped in tradition. The Belvedere is serving up speciality beers alongside the classic shorts that will line you up for an afternoon of food, family and telly! Ps the dog is welcome too! The bar is open from 12pm til 2pm.

9 – Farmers Arms Tavern

If you live around the Clubmoor area, The Farmers Arms on Lark Hill Lane  is the place to enjoy a Christmas drink. There will likely be a fine array of new jumper and shirt combo’s as the local lads prop up the bar from 11am until 3pm on Christmas Day.

10 – The Royal Standard

This Leyfield Road, West Derby pub is the heart of the community on Christmas day and offers a warm welcome to everyone. Christmas tunes, plenty of cheer and an expertly pulled pint is all on offer from 11am. There’s still a few places left for Christmas dinner too.

11 – The Rose of Mossley

Live around the Allerton area? Get yourself down to the gem that is The Rose of Mossley, Rose Lane for festive drinks and plenty of good tidings this Christmas Day. The bar open from 12 – 3pm and we’re told the wonderful staff are up for a bit of a sing song too! All together now….Deck the halls…..
