12 Reasons why you are going to LOVE The Alchemist Liverpool

Liverpool’s hottest new venue has arrived on Brunswick street, and you have to see it to believe it! We got a sneak peek around brand new bar and restaurant, The Alchemist and here’s our top 12 reasons why you’re going to love it!

The Science Bit

If you didn’t already know, Alchemy is all about mixing up different combinations, concoctions and processes to create something totally unique, and these guys really know their stuff. With a bar bursting with scientific equipment, mixing up a cocktail has never been so entertaining! And if you fancy a go yourself you can book a masterclass here. Don’t forget your safety goggles!

The Staff

Not only are the staff trained and tested to customer service perfection, they’re also super friendly. You’ll notice how well this brand new team have gelled as they welcome you and serve with a smile. They’re also the most attractive team we’ve encountered. You guys are sexy!

The Selfie Mirror

We can’t help but think that the floor to ceiling, copper colour mirror will be the focus of thousands of selfies when The Alchemist officially opens its doors. Take up residence at the far end of the bar for maximum Instagram pics.

The Décor

It’s been a long time since we walked into a bar and dining room that looks opulent while being comfortable and inviting. With copper topped tables, quilted leather chairs, crisp white linen and silver wear, the dining room exudes class. Exposed brick walls and a series of stunning art work by artist Dan Hillier, highlighted by perfectly placed copper toned lights, the entire building is filled with light and incredibly stylish.

The Drinks

You’re spoiled for choice with a menu of more than 50 cocktails, served in all manner of glasses and pots, plus a wealth of draft beer, wines and bubbles on offer. Half of the fun is pouring over the cocktails menu to work out which one to try first! Our current faves are the white cosmo and red dead zombie!

The Food

The Alchemist isn’t just about drinks. The menu offers carefully selected dishes from the most indulgent of world cuisines. From traditional Spanish tapas to Japanese ramen and a whole host of fish dishes, there are also vegetarian options and a selection of sumptuous desserts. We hope you’re hungry!

The Nibbles

You don’t have to sit down for dinner to sample the delicious food at The Alchemist. The Nibbles menu is so tempting; you’d do well to not order a couple of tasty accompaniments with your chosen cocktail. From salt and pepper pork crackling to truffle and parmesan popcorn, we guarantee your mouth will water just reading the menu!

The Breakfast

The Alchemist Liverpool is the first branch (outside of London) to offer a breakfast menu from 8am on weekdays, and we can’t think of a better place to host an informal breakfast meeting. The breakfast menu has everything, traditional full English, American waffles and protein rich eggs and avocado dishes. Brunch is available from 10am at weekends too.

The Mad Scientist

At the head of The Alchemist Liverpool bar is Felix, and he’s no ordinary mixologist. Having spent more than 10 years with the company, Felix regularly trains other bar staff in the science of cocktail alchemy having earned his stripes developing the drinks menus (which takes around 6 months!!) Take a seat at the bar and watch him and the team do their thing!

The Mood.

You might think that with a name like The Alchemist, the science is all about mixing outstanding cocktails and sourcing delicious ingredients, and you’d be right, but it doesn’t end there. If you’re sipping a Pornstar Martini in the bar as day turns to night, you might just see a little magic! When the sun goes down and the natural light fades, the room transforms into a rich, warmly lit oasis thanks to the carefully placed mirrors and tonal lighting. The perfect place to unwind, now that’s clever!

The All-Rounder

What we love most about The Alchemist is that it’s a brilliant all-rounder. Weekend brunch or a Sunday roast with the family, a cocktail masterclass with the girls, or a beer after work with colleagues, they’d all feel right at home here. Breakfast meeting anyone?

The Ice Breaker

We wrote recently about meeting your perfect match on the Liverpool Dating scene and if you took our expert advice and bagged yourself a date, you should definitely head to The Alchemist.
