12 Things to do this Summer at Royal Albert Dock Liverpool

Summer on the Dock sees an exciting programme of events come to life on the waterfront, with something for everyone.
The summer holidays are in full swing and the Royal Albert Dock is on hand with a whole host of fun-filled events for kids and adults to enjoy. Step out on to the water to watch your favourite movies, show off your footy skills with LFC Foundation, explore 80’s NYC at Tate, find out why Liverpool loves Lusi at Merseyside Maritime Museum and dine and drink on world cuisine on the waterfront this Summer on the Dock.
Here’s 12 things you can do at the Albert Dock this summer…
1 – Dock Pop-Up Floating Cinema
From Sunday 4th until Saturday 10th August, you can watch some of the best family and nautical themed films at the Albert Dock Pop-Up Floating Cinema! With an array of tasty snacks from neighbouring eateries, settle in to watch Finding Nemo, The Goonies, Lady & The Tramp and more. Tickets here.
2 – Middle Eastern Small Plates at Maray
Maray opened its third Liverpool based restaurant at the Albert Dock earlier this year and its proven a huge hit. Dine on hearty summer dishes inspired by Middle Eastern cuisine accompanied by seriously good cocktails and a dock sunset! The perfect summer evening. Menus here.
3 – Keith Haring, Tate Liverpool
Keith Haring fever has swept the city since this highly anticipated exhibition opened at Tate Liverpool in June. The first major exhibition in the UK of the American artist, Keith Haring (1958-1990) brings together more than 85 works exploring a broad range of the artist’s practice including large scale drawings and paintings. 4 – Catalan Fiesta, Lunyalita
You don’t need to get on a flight to enjoy the best Spanish cuisine this summer. Lunyalia at Royal Albert Dock invites you to feast on freshly prepared, authentic Catalan tapas, small plates, wine and cocktails that are sure to transport you to heart of Barcelona from your first taste. 5 – Get Creative Week
Get ready to get creative at Royal Albert Dock! From 11th – 14th August you and the kids can take part in a number of free, drop-in sessions. Enjoy story time sessions filled with mystery, adventure and nautical fun with Tugboat Cath and a whole host of unusual friends. Or why not check out the craft stations and make a mosaic collage, animal hat, musical instrument or your very own Albert Dock! Session times here.
6 – Revolucion De Cuba Cocktails
Liven up your summer evenings with a taste of Cuba! Revolucion De Cuba brings the heat and cooling cocktails to the dockside. Offering live music, all the rum, a guaranteed party atmosphere and tastebud tingling food from the authentic Cantina, escape to the Albert Dock this summer and toast the long hot days. 7 – Sport & Wellbeing
From 16th -22nd August, the Albert Dock becomes a hive of activity with a week long programme of exciting sport and well being activities. There’s Morning Yoga and meditation, Netball England coaching sessions, Lancashire Cricket Club cricket games and sessions, table tennis, music and movement, canoe taster sessions, pop up adventure play, smoothie bikes and more! 8 – Liverpool loves Lusi, Maritime Museum
Summer is a great time to wander the free museum and gallery attractions at Royal Albert Dock. With a rich maritime history, you can discover something you never knew at Merseyside Maritime Museum. Learn about Cunard’s RMS Lusitania and hear from local families as they recount their stories of lost loved ones when she was sank in 1915 carrying hundreds of Liverpool men and boys. 9 – Dockside Community Football
The hugely popular floating pitch returns to the Albert Dock on 23rd – 31st August. Boys and girls are invited to take part in free, drop in training session with LFC Foundation and popular football freestyle, Mr Silky Skills. Check out the session times and plan your visit here.
10 – Feast Your Pies, The Pie Port
New to the dock but with a local legacy that spans generations, The Pie Port from Satterthwaites Bakery is now serving up its legendary, freshly baked pies from Anchor Courtyard. There’s pork, Scouse, chicken and mushroom, steak and ale, cheese and potato and a whole host of delicious accompaniments on offer. And all the gravy! Menus and more here.
11 – Treat Yourself, The Nest
