We’re absolutely loving all this sunshine, it feels like being on holiday at home!

So to help you make sure you get out and make don’t miss any of it all, here are 12 things to do this week across Liverpool.

Annie the Musical at Liverpool Empire

There’ll never be a Miss Hannigan quite like the late great Paul O’Grady but this West End production of Annie is always a fantastic feelgood show for all the family packed with songs like The Hard-Knock LifeEasy Street, I Don’t Need Anything But You and Tomorrow. Back at Liverpool Empire Theatre from Monday June 5 until Saturday 10.

Bootle Music Festival is this weekend

Bootle Music Festival is taking over Lock & Key with two stages and a brilliant line-up headed by some Liverpool music legends. On Friday it’s Michael Head & the Red Elastic Band with The Cheap Thrills, Anthony Russel, Hegarty and Bryn Dawe and Saturday’s got The Zutons and The Farm leading a huge bill. Gates open at 12noon.

Try the new lunch menu at The Watering Can

The Watering Can in Greenbank Park is a lovely spot any time of the year but when the weather’s like this and it’s all opened up it’s absolutely gorgeous. It’s just launched a new lunch menu too which includes sandwiches, starters & big plates and summery salads – eye up all the fresh-baked cakes on the way in and make sure you leave room!

Visit the Flower Fairies at Lady Lever Gallery

Lady Lever Gallery in Port Sunlight has a free exhibition dedicated to the beautiful work of illustrator Cicely Mary Barker. Flower Fairies features around 45 original illustrations and early sketches, alongside digital projections, items from National Museums Liverpool’s botany collection and costumes inspired by the fairies.

Drinks on the Tempest on Tithebarn rooftop

This much sunshine definitely deserves a few outdoor bevvies so if you’re in the city centre and looking for somewhere to soak it up, head to the rooftop of Tempest on Tithebarn. It’s a nice big space with plenty of seats and a great view across the city skyline, open from 12 noon at weekends for walk-ins, no need to book.

Kitty: Queen of the Washhouse at Shakespeare North

Kitty Wilkinson is a heroine in Liverpool’s history who became a community champion against the odds. Liverpool-based Arts Groupie have created a one-hour show suitable for all the family which tells her story and celebrates her life. It’s proved so popular it’s coming back to Shakespeare North’s Cockpit Theatre this Thursday and Friday, June 8 & 9.

Vernons Girls launches at Royal Court Liverpool

The Vernons Girls tells the incredible story of the pools coupon checkers who loved to sing together and suddenly found themselves thrown into the spotlight with the birth of rock and roll in the 1950s. A feelgood nostalgia fest, this show is full of hits from the likes of Billy Fury, Eddie Cochran, Cliff Richard and Buddy Holly. On from Friday June 9-July 8 at the Royal Court.

Proper Heavy Disco at Camp and Furnace on Saturday

Disco shoes on because it’s time to get under that glitterball for the return of Proper Heavy Disco at Camp and Furnace this Saturday. Expect a night of non-stop dancefloor filling classics from Earth Wind and Fire, Diana Ross, Chaka Khan, Luther Vandross, Sister Sledge and loads more. From 8pm to 1am.

Nova Scotia Doggy Brunch on Saturday

If you thought nothing could be nicer than brunch in the sun then think again, because brunch with your dog 100% is! These are on the second Saturday of each month, so take your best boy (or girl) along to join in the fun with a breakfast brioche & hot drink for you and mini doggie brekkie and puppachino for them. 8.30am-11am at Nova Scotia at Mann Island.

Catch the sunset at Crosby Marine Lake

After the long gorgeous cloud-free days you can be sure of an even better sunset so head to the coast to see it best. Make your way to Crosby Marine Lake to watch it go down and get a cold one in at The Lake House while you take in the view.

Try Wreckfish’s new weekend breakfast menu

If you’ve only ever tried the bistro menus or Sunday lunch at Wreckfish then get there a bit earlier and give the new weekend breakfast a go. It’s served from 9am til 11.30am and you can book or just walk in for delicious dishes like bacon & egg waffles with mustard maple syrup or nduja and smoked honey beans on sourdough. There’s also breakfast cocktails!

Grab a brew at Sefton Perk to support the Palm House

If you’re heading to Sefton Park for a breather and a walk then make sure you go via the historic Palm House and treat yourself to an iced coffee with whipped cream. Sefton Perk kiosk is open from Thursday for a nice long sunny weekend between 10am and 4pm serving coffees, teas and snacks, with sales all supporting the Palm House.
