How about giving the novelty socks a miss this year and take your arl fella out for a well-earned pint and some grub?
Here’s some ideas for what you could get up to on Father’s Day, including lots of Liverpool boozers and of course some amazing menu’s on for the Daa’s of the city this weekend.
Ye Hole in the Wall – Hackins Hey
Liverpool’s oldest pub and multiple winner of pub of the year, Ye Hole in the Wall offers a huge range of quality cask ales and bar snacks as well as a local history lesson from the tonnes of city photographs that adorn the walls. Pint of Hooky please!
Dockers Afternoon Tea – Titanic Hotel
The team at Stanley’s Bar & Grill at the award winning Titanic Hotel have pulled out all of the Father’s Day stops for this year. From 12pm until 5pm they have ‘a day for the arl fella’ on Sunday, serving up a sumptuous Dockers AFternoon Tea, complete with steak sandwiches, premium sausage rolls, breaded scotch eggs, fish and chip pots, traditional English warm scones and cakes and all washed down with a selection of beer. On top of that they also have a delicious three course lunch on offer.
The Beehive – Mount Pleasant
Rumoured to have the best jukebox in any north west pub, The Beehive staff are the friendliest around, welcoming tourists and locals like regulars. Located at the foot of Mount Pleasant this good value pub is a great starting point for a night out in the city.
Smugglers Cove – Albert Dock
If your dad is more of a rum fan, get online and book a table at Smugglers Cove at the Albert Dock. Their world famous rum selection features over 150 different flavours and mixes and coupled with a mighty rotisserie menu and boxed father’s day beers, your dad will be spoilt rotten!
Africa Oye – Sefton Park
OK so not a restaurant or pub but the biggest African Festival in Europe will provide the perfect Father’s Day outing this weekend. Kicking off Saturday 12.30pm and running on both days until 9.30pm. Some fantastic African infused music, food and of course drink with The Oye Inn serving up Barefoot Wine, Caribbean cuisine and some great DJ’s. Best of all entry is completely free, which of course your Dad will love.
Mackenzie’s Whiskey Bar – Rodney Street
Again, not every dad is into just ale! If your dad is a whiskey man, the place for you this Sunday is Mackenzie’s Whiskey Bar. The knowledgeable, friendly staff love to make recommendations on the 150 plus whiskey’s they stock. PS – their Sunday roasts are fit too!
Love & Rockets – Lark Lane
Love & Rockets is the perfect place to chill out with a pizza and a pint. The atmosphere is always relaxed with long trestle tables, huge telly’s for the Euro’s and a generous selection of craft beers, bottles and tequila. Order the Crack Dog pizza, you won’t regret it!
Thomas Rigby’s – Dale Street
Rigby’s as it’s better known is one of Liverpool’s oldest pubs and a fave with the business community most nights of the week. With a great range of Okells beers and some of the best bowls of scouse the city has to offer, a pit stop at Rigby’s will defo earn you some Father’s Day brownie points!
The Club House – Liverpool One
Spoil your dad with a huge selection of world beers, ales and ciders in some seriously stylish surroundings at The Club House, Liverpool One. With beer tasting sessions, tasty bar snacks and gift packs of bottled beer, Father’s Day has never been so classy!
La Tasca – Queen Square
Why not take your Papá to Spain for the afternoon? La Tasca in Queen Square have undergone a stunning transformation and changed up their bar and food menu just in time for Father’s Day. Tapas, Paella, San Miguel and Sangria (and hopefully) sunshine in the new terrace – what is not to love!

Let’s be honest most scouse dad’s love the sounds of the swinging 60’s and we have all heard them singing along in the shower, in the pub and in the car to The Beatles, so why not take them on a little Beatles themed day out. Hard Days Night have got a feather’s day burger and beer offer on and follow that up with a few pints and some live music in the Cavern and you are all set.
