January really does feel like it’s 3 months long and those doing dry January, not even a few bevs can make it go any quicker, that said, pay day is just about within our reach and there’s actually some great stuff going on this week. Grab your headphones, organise that date and prep your belly for a feast as we line up 14 reasons to smile on Merseyside this week….
1 – National Pie Day
Tuesday 23rd January 2018 is National Pie Day and we don’t need any more excuse to head to Pi on Rose Lane for a pie and a pint. There’s also gluten free pies and Gin on offer too. See you there.

3 – Downsizing at the Odeon, Liverpool ONE

Oh Mandy, will you ever learn girl? She’s not got the best form but Mandy and Luke are set to tie the knot in Hollyoaks this week, what could possibly go wrong? Catch up and set your reminders here.
5 – Mission Impossible 6?
Hollywood star and everyone’s second favourite secret agent (we’re Bond faithful here) Tom Cruise aka Ethan Hawke, will be on Graham Norton’s sofa again this Friday to talk about the forthcoming Mission Impossible 6. What do you think the global threat will be this time?
6 – A Familiar Face returns to Albert Square

Oh here comes trouble! The most disturbing thing about Mel Owen returning to EastEnders is the fact that she is rumoured to rekindle her romance with Ian Beale! Unless it’s all part of a plan of course?
7 – Get your Take That fix
We can’t wait to see Take That’s ‘The Band’ as it begins an 11 date run at the Liverpool Empire from Tuesday night. Come back to the early 90’s and follow the story of 5 fit young lads from Manchester with a dream of chart stardom. Tickets and info here.
8 – Burns Night Whisky Tasting
If you’re Scottish or have enough the most distant link to Scottish heritage, celebrate Burns night on Thursday at The Fly in the Loaf with a special tasting session. Failing that, nip to Delifonseca to grab all the bits you need for a traditional Scottish dinner and toast the great man himself. Neeps and tatties anyone?
