15 places to breakfast and brunch before the Grand National Festival 2025

The Grand National Festival at Aintree’s one of Merseyside’s best-loved events, and when you’re getting ready for the off there’s something else you need to consider along with whether your outfit’s on point and you’ve got a few tips in the hope of a winner:

Breakfast and brunch!

The festival, which this year’s on from April 3-5, is exciting and full on – so you need to start the day with fabulous food to give you staying power on the course.

Castle Street Townhouse

And they’re off! You can join the Townhouse for a Bottomless Breakfast over all the Grand National weekend. From April 3-5 it’s offering a selection of breakfast items, including bottomless prosecco, mimosas, selected lager, Guinness, and one hot drink of your choice for £30 per person (for one hour). Breakfast dishes include a Full Townhouse brekkie, Steak and Eggs, a Breakfast Bagel and Smashed Avocado on Toast.

Voyagers Bar and Restaurant

Voyagers is hosting a champagne breakfast on both Ladies Day and Grand National Day, Friday and Saturday, April 4-5.  There’ll be live music and options include a luxury continental buffet with a brunch dish for £19, and you can add a glass or bottle of Tattinger for £12.50 or £70, respectively, or a glass or bottle of Prosecco for £5.50 or £33. The breakfast will be served from 6.30am until 1pm on the Friday, and from 7am-1pm on the Saturday.

Jam Restaurant

The Sir Thomas Street restaurant’s offering its popular Race Day Bubbles & Breakfast on Ladies Day and Grand National Day itself including travel to and from Aintree. It’s served from 10am both days and costs £39 per person. The menu includes a Full English Breakfast, Vegetarian/Vegan Breakfast, and Eggs Benedict, with diced saute potatoes.

The Park Hotel Liverpool

Grand National Breakfast at the Park Hotel

The Dunningsbridge Road venue is hosting a Grand National 2025 Champagne Breakfast on every day of the festival, April 3-5. For £30 per person each day you can enjoy a glass of bubbly alongside a delicious full English breakfast, then sit back and relax as they whisk you away to the racecourse.

The Shankly Hotel

Grand National Breakfast at The Shankly Hotel

On Grand National Day itself, The Shankly is offering more than just breakfast.  For £59.95 per person you can enjoy a hearty brekkie and a glass of fizz from 10am to make sure you get your day off to a great start, and then join them again to celebrate your wins (or wallow in your losses) with an evening buffet and dancing until the early hours.

Frederiks, Hope Street

Frederiks are celebrating with an exclusive Champagne Breakfast & Coach experience on Ladies Day, Friday, April 4, and Grand National Day, on Saturday, April 5. There’s a selection of breakfast dishes including a Full English or Vegan Breakfast and Avo on Toast, complete with a glass of fizz and an acoustic guitarist to entertain you while you dine. The cost is £40 plus booking fee and includes coach travel to and from the racecourse.

Doubletree by Hilton Liverpool

Not going to the races? No worries, you can still celebrate Ladies Day in style at Doubletree. You and your crew can join them at the Koukash Bar & Grill for a memorable Ladies Day Brunch which includes a glass of fizz, a buffet brunch and the chance to watch all the action on the big screen. There are even prizes for the best dressed! It costs £49 per person with arrival from 11am and brunch served between 12-2pm.

The Book, West Derby

The Book, West Derby - Grand National Breakfast

The Book is offering a full cooked breakfast buffet with bottomless prosecco, pilsner lager, Pornstar Martinis and Strawberry Daiquiris from 10am throughout the Grand National Festival. It’s £35 per person on Thursday and Friday (and excludes transport) and £45 per person on Saturday, including transport to Aintree.

The countdown to the Grand National is on – and Flight Club in Liverpool ONE is ready to celebrate with a Race Day Breakfast on Friday and Saturday, April 4-5. It’s being served from 9am and you can enjoy a £10 breakfast bap & drink offer.

The Liner Hotel

The Liner is hosting a ‘sparkling’ breakfast in its Seven Seas Brasserie, available every day of the races from 9.30am-11.30am. For £24 per person, you can enjoy a bottomless breakfast including prosecco, wine or draught beer or a breakfast only option for £15 per person, which still includes a glass of prosecco on arrival. Food includes fresh fruit and pastries, a traditional English breakfast or deluxe poached eggs, as well as tea and coffee. A £10 per person deposit is required for bookings.

Emily’s Formby

Emily’s reckons its breakfasts and or brunches are a sure thing to get you off to a winning start – think a delicious menu filled with Steak and Eggs, Emily’s Breakfast, Smashed Avocados, Smoked Salmon, Pancakes and more – but its diary is already filling up fast across Grand National weekend, so if you want to join them for breakfast or brunch before your big day at Aintree they reckon you need to get booking soon via its website or DM.

You can get ready for the races at Elixir in Oxton which is offering a special breakfast and transport to Aintree for Ladies Day on Friday and Grand National Day on the Saturday. It features a full English or vegan breakfast to set you up for a great day with your mates and after breakfast, you’ll hop aboard an executive coach to Aintree racecourse. Tickets are £40 – and that includes your breakfast and return coach travel.

With the perfect address in Grand National Avenue the Toby Carvery is already out in front, and it’s taking a lead with its great value brekkies being served every day of the world-leading sporting festival between 9am and 1pm. You can get a full breakfast and a drink for £15, full breakfast for two and a bottle of prosecco for £50, and full breakfast for two and a bottle of Moet for £60. We know what our favourite is!

Breakfast at Bernies - Grand National Special

Saddle up for Breakfast at Bernies and enjoy a Race Goers Breakfast Special – 2 sausage, 2 bacon, 2 eggs, hashbrown, black pudding, mushrooms, beans, tomatoes, and 2 toast, or avocado on sour dough with poached eggs, spinach, mushrooms and cherry tomatoes – with a glass of bubbly for £12.95.
