20 Sunny day must do's on Merseyside, how many can you tick off?

The warm weather has returned and we’re planning on making the most of every minute of it with these summer day out ideas.

From family friendly activities including the brand new Pier Head Village and thrifty afternoons in the park, to cocktails for the couples and nights out on the tiles for the guys and girls, we’ve got something for everyone.

Here’s 20 ways to spend a sunny day on Merseyside, how many will you tick off?

1 – Take a leisurely walk along our stunning waterfront, from Otterspool to the Pier Head.

2 – Hire & Bike & Go and cycle around Sefton Park, how many laps can you do before stopping for ice cream?

3 – Pack a picnic and head to the sand dunes of Formby Beach, you can take the train to Freshfields with Merseyrail

4 – Get the gang together for Gin cocktails at the Botanical Garden and while you are there head to the new Ghetto Golf Terrace bar and Constellations beer garden too.

5 – Grab a frappe and people watch on the Liverpool ONE new turfed steps, it’s a great spot to sunbathe on your lunch break.

6 – Go and explore the brand new Pier Head Village, rides for thrill seekers, live music, bars and even an artisan market.

8 – Jump the train to New Brighton for al fresco dining on Marine Point, a walk along the beach and let the kids loose on the Black Pearl pirate ship.

9 – Relax in the peaceful surroundings of Allerton Manor and indulge in a sumptuous meal and glass of bubbles on the terrace of The Old Stables Restaurant.

10 – Raid the Red Door cocktail menu on the rooftop Tikki Terrace or as we like to call it the best sun trap in the city!

11 – Plan a day at Port Sunlight for a full on ice cream binge.

12 – Enjoy Grillin’ while your Chillin’ at Exchange Flags and it’s new pop up Bubbles Bar, Cheers!

13 – Take in the sights at Croxteth Country Park, with great trails for bikes, paths for scooters and you can even get a selfie with a sheep at the farm.

14 – Fly a kite at Otterspool Prom, old school fun at it’s very best.

15 – Head to Chavasse Park, Liverpool One for a whole range of al fresco dining options. We’d advise the hanging kebabs from The Clubhouse.

16 – Beer garden beer garden beer garden! There’s so many pubs to choose from around the region, our faves include The Dovedale off Smithdown, The Sefton in West Derby Village, The Viking in West Kirkby. Where is your favourite place to sit out with a cold pint?

18 – Walk the Wirral Way to West Kirkby and reward your efforts with ice cream and a sensational sunset!

Days Out Liverpool

19 – Watch the world go by on Castle Street. Sit outside at Cau, Castle St Townhouse or The Olive Press with a cool cocktail and toast the last of the days sunrays.

20 – Summer fun in Southport. Jump the train for a day out at our favourite beach resort less than an hour away, and no parking to worry about!
