20 things to do this weekend in Liverpool
4 years ago

First off, if you are out and about this weekend be warned, it’s our Guide Liverpool Christmas night out! So if you see a lanky ginger lad throwing bad shapes on a dance floor somewhere just walk away.
Really though there’s so much happening over the next few days and of course, most of it involves Christmas.
For Breakfast…
Rocket & Ruby
Brand new to Castle Street, Rocket & Ruby has been bright to us by the same superstars who brought us Salt House Tapas and Bacaro. Open daily until 10pm with breakfast served until 11.30; expect filled hot choux buns, brioche rolls, freshly baked croissants, smoothies and more.
Full delicious menu is this way.
For Lunch…
The Sir T, Victoria Street
If you are off Christmas Shopping this weekend and fancy a little pit stop somewhere seriously swanky then head to The Sir T on Victoria Street. The Sir Thomas has had an unbelievable makeover and you can tuck into a full Christmas lunch or go for the simple, yet delicious fish finger sandwich amongst lots more tempting choices.
Have a nosey at their website here.
For Meat Lovers…
Viva Brazil, Castle St
We all know how this works, you leave your card on green for more or red for “I’m full”. Every type and cut of meat imaginable with a tick off list of 14 to cuts to devour. Great bar and drinks menu too – just don’t fill yourself up at the starters station before you get stuck into the meat!
Check out the full menu and book your table here.
For Bottomless Christmas Dinner…
Baltic Social – Sunday
We love the BOTOMLESS menus at Baltic Social, it’s where the eat all you want idea started from in Liverpool! This Sunday you can tuck into as many pigs in blankets, stuffing balls and turkey as you want whilst also being served non stop beer or fizz. There are three two-hour sittings throughout Sunday but check and book before you rock up.

For the Kids…
There’s so much for the little ones to this weekend and throughout Christmas in Liverpool. Here are 7 of many family events for this weekend.
Storytime with Santa is getting great reviews at Liverpool Town Hall and there is availability for this Sunday. The Venue at our Royal Liver Bird is hosting a Waterfront Wonderland this Sunday complete with three course meal, singing with the Snow Queen, Christmas games and disco and of course, Santa.
Enchanted continues to dazzle at Knowsley Safari Park each evening form 4pm with the light safari, entertainers, funfair and festive treats. Liverpool ONE have their singing Santa, naughty elves and films like The Grinch and the Nutcracker on at the Odeon.
The Secret Winter Garden has lit up Croxteth Park like never before, brought to you by the Lantern Company. The Storybarn’s Christmas Grotto brings a real immersive Santa experience to Calderstones Park this weekend. And Liverpool’s Famous Grotto is waiting for you at St. John’s Shopping Centre. You aren’t a kid in Liverpool if you haven’t been here!
For the perfect Panto…
So many to choose from and the quality of all of the below is really high this year, four of the best here.
Peter Pan at Theatre Royal St. Helens starring Louis Emerick and Kristina Rihanoff is filled with incredible special effects, great comedy for young and old and the best Captain Hook performance we have ever seen from Mr. Emerick.
Snow White is hilarious for kids, and absolutely hysterical for adults. It’s on now at the Epstein starring our very own Claire Simmo, Dereck Acorah, loveable Lewis Pryor and Mia Malloy, plus everyones favourite baddie, Kim Woodburn. In our opinion, the funniest Dame in all of the land is played perfectly here by Michael Chapman. Definitely not to be missed!
Two more pantos launch today (Friday 14th Dec) with Peter Pan at the Echo Arena’s Auditorium starring our fave Radio City brekky presenter, Leanne Campbell and The Chase’s Mark Labbet. And it’s the sound of Fee Fi Fo Fum at Liverpool Empire as Strictly’s Shirley Ballas takes to the stage in Jack and the Beanstalk.
As you can see the city is sparkling and ready for you to explore this weekend and throughout Christmas. Tag us in your Liverpool Christmas photos and keep up today with everything on our Twitter, Facebook and Instagram pages.
Have a good one, Jay x
