20 things you can do with the kids in Liverpool during Christmas Holidays

There’s no reason for the kids to be getting bored during Christmas Holidays in Liverpool!


School’s out for Christmas, but as you search for that illusive roll of sellotape, realise you’ve missed the last postal date for the overseas cards you bought, and wonder how exactly you’re going to cook Christmas dinner for 19 people, have no festive fear!

We’re here to help – at least with entertaining the younger troops in, and around Liverpool during their school holidays.

1. Kids eat for £1 - Ropewalks Bar & Kitchen, Hanover Street

From 12-9pm for every full-paying adult enjoying a main from the signature dish menu, one child can enjoy a dish from the children’s menu for £1 up until the 5th January. Sounds pretty good to us.

5. Post your letter to Santa - The Disney Store, Liverpool ONE (Until Christmas Eve 2019)

The ideal way to distract the kids if you’ve still got so last minute shopping to do, nip into The Disney Store to write a letter to Santa and post it in-store. Super cute!

6. Polar Adventure - Chavasse Park (Until Christmas Eve 2019)

Depart the Polar Adventure for a magical journey onboard the Christmas Express! Join the pop-up polar party to celebrate with hot chocolate, glitter face-painting, storytelling, as well as music, dancing, and lots of festive fun! Recommended for children aged 3-10 accompanied by an adult.

8. Otterspool Adventure does Christmas - Otterspool Drive (Until Christmas Eve 2019)

9. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker - Woolton Picture House (from Friday 27th December)

Gather the troops for the third instalment of the Star Wars sequel trilogy, following The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, and a viewing at Liverpool’s oldest independent cinema should make this movie especially memorable. (12A)

10. Lark Lane Farmer’s Market (Saturday 28th December)

Christmas cabin fever is easily treatable as you support local producers at the stalls from 9-2pm, take a wander around stunning Sefton Park, and have a bite to eat on The Lane.

11. Beasty Baby - Unity Theatre (Until Saturday 28th December 2019)

Ideal for children under-8, enjoy puppetry, music and song as we meet a very naughty baby and discover being family doesn’t mean being perfect!

12. The Snowman with live orchestra - Liverpool Cathedral – (Saturday 28th December).

18. Cinderella, Epstein Theatre - Hanover Street (Until Sunday 5th January 2020)

We all loved the movie, and now you can relive the classic Christmas story live on stage at our Playhouse Theatre. Miracle on 34th Street the Musical is a Liverpool first and it’s getting magical reviews. It’s on until 4th January.

20. Peter Pan, Liverpool Empire

Take a trip to Neverland this Christmas as Liverpool Empire bring you a swash-buckling panto like no other. The shows stars Benidorm’s Tony Maudsley, Liverpool legend Louis Emerick and X Factor star, Nikki Evans. Be quick, it finishes on 29 December.
