24 firms come together to launch Knowsley Wellbeing & Nature Alliance
50 minutes ago
Two dozen businesses have joined forces to launch a new year-long initiative aimed at improving health, wellbeing and access to green space across Knowsley.
The Knowsley Wellbeing & Nature Alliance brings together 24 local contractors, consultants and infrastructure specialists in a coordinated commitment to create measurable social impact in the borough.
The programme will be delivered by grow CIC at Bowring Park, turning collective business investment into structured activity for the community.

Plans include community gardening sessions, guided wellbeing walks, forest school programmes and nature-based activities designed to boost physical activity, reduce isolation and strengthen community connections.
Businesses involved include Morgan Sindall, MJ Quinn, Alumasc Roofing, Summit Marine Scaffolding, CABA Brickwork and Ridge Built Environment Consultancy, reflecting a cross-sector commitment to Knowsley’s future.
Knowsley remains one of the most economically challenged boroughs in England, with long-standing health inequalities and lower-than-average physical activity levels. Research shows that well-managed green spaces can play a key role in improving mental wellbeing and supporting healthier lifestyles — particularly in areas facing deprivation.

By centring activity at Bowring Park, the Alliance aims to create visible, long-term change rather than one-off volunteering days or sponsorships. The programme will follow a coordinated delivery plan, designed and measured by grow CIC, with businesses receiving verified social value reporting aligned to procurement and ESG requirements.
Members will receive regular progress updates, a six-month review and a full annual impact report outlining attendance figures and community outcomes.
Matt Bell, Director of grow CIC, said bringing 24 organisations together sends a strong message about shared responsibility for the borough’s future.
He said: “This Alliance is about turning good intentions into structured, measurable impact at Bowring Park. By aligning business support behind a clear delivery plan, we’re creating long-term change.”

Morgan Sindall played a key role in bringing the alliance together, with many participating firms part of its supply chain.
Gill Roberts, Senior Social Value Manager at Morgan Sindall, said the partnership allows businesses of all sizes to deliver meaningful impact without needing dedicated social value teams.
She said: “We’re incredibly proud of the businesses that have joined the Alliance and the fact we’re putting back into Knowsley. We’re all excited about the impact we can make together.”
