31 Reasons why you can’t miss LIMF 2019 in Sefton Park

LIMF returns to Sefton Park this July with an amazing weekend line up, packed with live music acts, haven’t got your tickets yet? What are you waiting for?


Liverpool International Music Festival (LIMF) is back on 20th-21st July 2019.

Two days, four stages and more than 60 acts performing live to kick start your summer. Celebrations don’t get much bigger than this as Liverpool based 3Beat marks its 30th anniversary with headliners SIGMA and we go back to the golden age of the glitterball with none other than Disco Classical with special guests Sister Sledge featuring Kathy Sledge, plus so much more.

LIMF 2019 tickets are just £11 per day, with kids age 12 and under going free (with a free ticket), with VIP tickets available for just £26 giving you access to your own loos, bars and very cool area backstage, so now’s the time to grab yours, before they sell-out!

Sigma headline Saturday at LIMF on Central Stage and frankly we don’t even know where to start on the back catalogue of hits that we can’t wait to hear at Sefton Park. ‘Nobody to Love’ has got to be up there.

With Nikki Belle’s ‘Trippin On You’, Anton Powers ‘Don’t Be Alone No More’ and many more huge famous Liverpool dance anthems live on stage you won’t know if you are in Sefton Park or in the middle of Scouse super club on a Saturday night. Rave face on!

If you need one reason to get your LIMF 2019 tickets right now, it’s this. Disco legends, Sister Sledge featuring Kathy Sledge are headlining Sunday on Central Stage and yes it is the real life Kathy Sledge alongside Disco Classical.

Samm Henshaw brings the Sunday chill factor to LIMF Central Stage, prepare to clap along to the cool rhythm of ‘Church’ and ‘Doubt’. It’s what lazy Sunday’s in the park are all about.

7 – VIP

VIP tickets for both Saturday and Sunday are still available, but BE QUICK as these tickets sell fast. Posh toilets, concession stalls, bars and DJ’s all in one, luxury chill out area. Tickets here. 

8 – 3Beat @30

Legendary Liverpool label 3Beat Records celebrates its 30th birthday with a spectacular showcase on Saturday at LIMF. With over 30 musicians accompanied by special guests SIGMA, M-22 and Anton Powers, this is one musical moment not to be missed.

9 – Came Here For Love

LIMF is best enjoyed with your favourite people and if there’s a track to bawl at your best mate or fella/girlfriend in the sunshine, its got to be ‘Came Here For Love’ by the incredible Ella Eyre on Saturday.

10 – True School Club House

Fancy a side of old skool with your festival experience? It absolutely goes off in the True School Club House with acts like Jazzie B, Norman Jay MBE, Kenny Dope and Original Dodger on the line up.

11 – Funk Royalty

Returning to LIMF, the godfathers of funk, soul, jazz, ska, Norman Jay MBE and Soul II Soul’s Jazzie B plays the True School Club House on Saturday. Without a doubt, two of the most respected DJs in the world today, playing LIMF this summer.

12 – De La Soul

The undisputed kings of Hip Hop, De La Soul swap their native NYC for LIMF on Sunday 21st July. We simply have to hear the opening bars of ‘Me Myself & I’ ring out on Central Stage. If you know, you know.

13 – Music City Stage

If you’re in to discovering the best up and coming sounds, the Music City Stage in association with LIMF Academy is the place to be. Don’t miss Eyesore & The Jinx, Peach Fuzz, Deliah and New Junior performing live.

14 – Scousers at LIMF

There’s a real Merseyside feel to the offering at LIMF 2019. Anton Powers, Tea Street Band, Mic Lowry, Sub Blue, Gazelle, Raheem Alameen, Pizza Girl and more represent homegrown talent at its finest. Is right!

15 – Cheers to that

There will be a number of competitively priced bars at LIMF so you can raise a drink to your fave act throughout the weekend. You can bring unopened soft drinks in plastic bottles into the festival site but no glass.

16 – Mic Lowry

Liverpool Hip Hop collective Mic Lowry play a homecoming gig on central stage at LIMF on Saturday, we’re looking forward to welcoming the lads back to the festival where it all began for them and of course, hearing ‘Tesla’ ring out across Sefton Park.

17 – Lost In Music

Lovers of disco are in for an unmissable treat at LIMF on Sunday.  A collection of the world’s greatest tracks including ‘We Are Family’ ”Everybody Dance’ and ‘He’s The Greatest Dancer’ are brought back to life with Manchester Camerata Orchestra. Mass sing alone guaranteed for Disco Classical.

18 – Wake Up

Are you ready for the unmistakable husky tones of Maverick Sabre? We’re loving latest track ‘Slow Down’ featuring Jorja Smith. Central Stage, Saturday, be there.

19 – Everyone Is Welcome

The team at LIMF want everyone to have an amazing festival experience. There is an accessible viewing platform at Central stage, disabled toilets and assistance dogs are permitted on site too. Head this way for more info on the personal assistant scheme.

20 – Shivers

Producer and DJ, SG Lewis brings brooding soundscapes to Central Stage on Sunday. From chilled beats like ‘Warm’ to dancefloor fillers like ‘Coming Up’ this set will have something for everyone.

21 – Family Fun

As with every year, the team at LIMF go all out to make this two day event family friendly and inclusive. Expect family friendly activities on the festival site. Don’t forget to take your picnic blanket!

22 – The Shubz DJ Tent

If the wheels of steel are you thing you’ll be spending most of your LIMF experience in The Shubz DJ Tent. DJ Ace, Manny Norte, Kenny Allstar and more hit the decks for two days of big beats.

23 – Rain or Shine

Okay, bottom line is, any festival is better when the sun is shining but with a huge 2019 line up, the crowd will be jumping whatever the weather. Wellies, sun cream, festival braids, glitter, sunnies, go all out!

24 – Answerphone

Sefton Park will be absolutely bouncing when this banger drops. Ella Eyre and YXNG Bane certainly know how to lay down a catchy lyric and beat. I’ve been talking to your answerphone na na!

25 – Insta- LIMF

Instagram will get absolutely battered with festival selfies an pics during LIMF, it’s even better if the sun is shining! Find the huge LIMF letters, get on boomerang in the crowds and snap your fave act on stage.

26 – Tea Street Band

‘Disco Lights’ at the ready as one of Liverpool’s best loved bands will be performing live at LIMF and with their latest album to showcase this will be a gig not to miss.

27 – Bring Your Butties

There’s a whole host of food vendors on offer at LIMF 2019 but you can also bring a picnic and make a full on day of it. Make sure you chuck your rubbish in the bins provided and don’t bring any glass containers.

28 – Weekend Sorted

Central Stage at LIMF kicks off at 12pm on both Saturday and Sunday with live acts performing until 9pm each day, so get some drinks and eats in, grab a spot on the field and make a full weekend of it with all your favourite people and the best music.

29 – LIMF Shuttle Bus

On both Saturday and Sunday you can catch the LIMF Shuttle bus back into the city from the festival site from 8:45pm. Find out more here. 

30 – Kids Go Free

Kids age 12 and under go free at LIMF 2019. All children require a ticket to gain entry into the festival. Tickets are limited to four children per paying adult (18+). Anyone aged 16+ does not need to be accompanied by an adult.
