33 Things to do with the kids this Easter holidays in Merseyside

We’ve got loads of ways to keep the kids entertained this Easter hols.


The kids on Merseyside are about to embark on 2 glorious school-free weeks and we know how daunting that can be as a parent! This Easter holidays we’ve lined up more than 30 events and activities to check out. From traditional Easter crafts and egg hunts to an indoor fun fair, Disney on Ice and a chance to clip n’ climb and burn off some steam.

Here’s 33 ways to treat the kids this Easter holidays on Merseyside…

1 – The Wonderful World of Disney on Ice, M&S Bank Arena

From  17th – 21st April the M&S Bank Arena hosts Mickey, Minnie and The Wonderful World of Disney on Ice. Tickets here. 

2 – Easter Workshops: Mega Models, Tate Liverpool

Tate Liverpool at Royal Albert Dock is the place to be for mini crafters this Easter with lots of different work shops including puppet making, mega models and more. Info here. 

3 – The Wizard of Oz, Epstein Theatre

Our very own Simmo and ‘Mersey mouth’ Lindzi Germain star in the Epstein Theatre Easter panto The Wizard of Oz from 11th – 22nd April. Do not miss this hilarious family fun show. Tickets here. 

4 – Easter Crafts and Egg hunt, Wigwam Coffee Shop

Wigwam Coffee Shop, Rose Lane is hosting a variety of Easter fun sessions including an egg hunt, afternoon tea with the Easter bunny and basket making too. Find out more here. 

5 – Mini Romans Kids Easter Special

It’s the kids turn to get muddy and messy at the Mini Romans Kids Easter Special in Aintree on 21st April. Expect whacky games, BBQ, face painting and loads more. Kids age 7-16+ welcome. Book here. 

6 – Everton Easter Egg Hunt

Everton In The Community invites you to an Easter Party at The Blue Base followed by an Easter Egg (or toffee) hunt a Goodison Park on 18th April from 11am. Book here. 

7 – Liverpool Indoor Fun Fair, Exhibition Centre

From 15th – 22nd April, Exhibition Centre Liverpool become a giant indoor playground as an indoor fair, complete with inflatable obstacle course throws open its doors. Wristbands are ÂŁ10.

8 – Little Rock Stars Disco: Beatles Boogie

Constellations loves a good family party and on 13th April you can bust some moves together at the Little Rock Stars Disco: Beatles Boogie. There’s also crafts, art, bubbles, balloons and loads more. Book here. 

9 – The Goonies, Picturehouse at FACT

One for the older kids now. If there’s one iconic movie that sums up the adventurous spirit of our youth, it’s got to be The Goonies. Catch it on the big screen at Picturehouse at FACT on 21st – 23rd April. Book here. 

10 – Easter Fun Day, The Bentley

The Bentley, The Strand invites you to show off your best Easter bonnet, meet the Easter Bunny and enjoy an afternoon tea with live entertainment. Book your spot here.

11 – Calderstones Park, Easter Fair

Calderstones Park Fair returns for loads of Easter fun from 6th – 22nd April. With a free toddler garden, affordable tokens and something for everyone, there’s also competitions and a visit from the Easter Bunny too. More here. 

12 – Chavassic Park, Liverpool ONE

Did you know there’s Dinosaurs roaming the streets of Liverpool ONE? Head to Chavassic Park on your next visit and check out the new app to see there Jurassic creatures in action.

13 – Worlds Apart Easter Manga Night

If your teens are into anime or manga, get down to Worlds Apart on 14th April from 4:30pm and join in all the cosplay fun. There’s comps, raffles and a fab atmosphere guaranteed. Info here.

14 – Puppets, badges & Vintage Games at Liverpool Museums

15 – Easter Film Club: Little Mermaid, Hug A Mug

Hug A Mug, Gateacre Brow is hosting loads of Easter fun sessions throughout the holidays including a film club. Watch The Little Mermaid and Hop or try a craft or baking session. Full listings here. 

16 – Tudor Roots, Easter at Speke Hall

From 6th – 18th April Speke Hall is offering families the chance to step back in time and learn about the Tudors. Think floral posy making, exploring the maze, live entertainment and lots more. Full listings here.

17 – Mad Hatters Tea Party, Jumping Jacks

The fabulous team at Jumping Jacks Parties is hosting an Easter Mad Hatters Tea Party at St Paschal Baylon on Sunday 14th April. There’s a whole list of on the day entertainment including character meet and greets, disco, balloon modelling and more. Tickets here. 

18 – Mini Music Makers, British Music Experience

There’s loads of musical, interactive fun to be had at the British Music Experience this Easter hols. From under fives jamming in the studio to a family trail and dance studio to bust some moves. Find out more here.

Liverpool Central Library is a hive of activity throughout the Easter holidays. You and your little ones can enjoy puppet and magic shows, storytelling sessions, rhyme time and more. See what’s on here. 

20 – Design a Videogame with Little Sandbox

Head to Norris Green Library on Thursday 18th April to have a go at designing your own video game. This full day workshop teaches kids how to design characters, plan levels and code! Book on here.

21 – Awesome Walls Kids Easter Party

22 – Easter Sunday Family Lunch, The Venue RLB

How do you fancy spending Easter Sunday in the city’s most iconic building? The Venue at Royal Liver Building is hosting a Jumping Jacks Easter Sunday party with loads of family fun. More info and booking here. 

23 – Escape from Wonderland, Escape Hunt

If you have kids over the age of 10, how about challenging them to escape Puzzleland at Escape Hunt, Royal Albert Dock? This Alice in Wonderland themed escape experience is a great family activity to try this Spring. Book here.

Calling all Star Wars fans! Spaceport, Seacombe is hosting the Sci Fi Icons exhibition which showcases a huge collection of iconic scenes and characters from the films including, Landspeeder Desert Scene, Ewok Village, Jedi Knights, The Death Star, Jabba’s Court, The Emperor’s throne room and more. 26 – Easter Craft & Archaeology, Victoria Gallery & Museum

There’s a whole host of free, drop in Easter craft sessions on offer at the Victoria Gallery on Ashton Street. Mae your own clock tower, there’s family trails to explore and check out the augmented reality app to bring the Bell Jar Nightmares to life. More here. 

27 – The Wizard of Oz, St Helens Theatre Royal

Fancy another trip down the yellow brick road? Head to St Helen’s Theatre Royal from 6th -22nd April to see the one and only Linda Lusardi and co take on the Emerald city. Tickets here. 

28 – We’re Going on A Bear Hunt, Floral Pavilion

Michael Rosen’s much loved children’s tale, We’re Going On A Bear Hunt gets a stage adaptation this Easter. Head to New Brighton’s Floral Pavilion on 6th and 7th April to join in the adventure. Tickets here. 

29 – Discover Madagascar at Chester Zoo

From 4th til 28th April, Chester Zoo invites you to discover Madagascar with a whole host of themed events for all the family. Expect storytelling, dance, music and art – sharing the unique characteristics and culture of this incredible place. More info here. 

30 – Family Yoga, Sefton Park Palm House

Half Term in Liverpool

On Sunday 14th April you and you little ones can enjoy a Family Yoga Bears session as the stunning Sefton Park Palm House. The hour long session starts at 10am and is a great way to start a day in the park. Info here. 

31 – Tom Gates Live, Liverpool Empire

The brilliant Tom Gates brings his UK tour to the Liverpool Empire Theatre from 17th – 22nd April. Tom’s having a bit of drama at school and is close to missing out on the big trip! Whether you love the books or you’re brand new to the adventure, this is a fab treat for kids age 4 and up. Tickets here. 

32 – Teddy Bears Picnic, Liverpool Philharmonic

On Sunday 14th April there’s a very special Teddy Bear’s Picnic taking place at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall. Grab your fave teddy and get ready for a live symphony orchestra to bring some old family fave songs to life. Tickets here. 

33 – There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Fly The Atkinson, Southport

The People’s Theatre company come to The Atkinson, Southport on 27th April for one last Easter treat with this magical show. There’s tonnes of nursery rhymes so join in if you know the words! Info here.
