The Christmas season is officially here!
Christmas in Liverpool brings festive songs echoing around, shops teeming with the perfect gifts, and our region’s bars, restaurants, and cafes adorned in their December splendour.
The city has really gone the extra mile this year to make you feel super Christmassy!
Here are five venues who have really gone all out for the festivities this Christmas in Liverpool.
Municipal Hotel
The Municipal Hotel has already become a must visit since it opened in the city earlier this year, complete with spectacular décor and ornate stonework.
The building was designed by Liverpool Corporation architect John Weightman in the 1860s, and remained as the council offices until 2017. This listed building was reimagined as a hotel and lovingly restored to be part of the Accor group’s prestigious boutique brand, opening in May of this year.
It currently has Christmas decorations to match its glorious architecture and is truly sparkling for the festive season. The centre piece is a gorgeous tree suspended above the bar in the Palm Court and elsewhere there are tasteful and luxurious festive touches.
You can see this sumptuous display and enjoy some festive drinks and dining at the same time. There is a seasonal menu available in the Seaforth restaurant and a festive afternoon tea on offer in the Botanic tearoom.
The Municipal Hotel is on Dale Street and is a perfect place for you to celebrate Christmas in Liverpool.

A well-established favourite on the Liverpool dining scene, San Carlo underwent a massive ÂŁ3.5 million transformation earlier this year and looks stunning.
The elegant surroundings, featuring marble and timber tables and brass detailing throughout, are perfect for a Christmas get together with friends to enjoy the traditional Italian menu.
The restaurant has been given a gorgeous festive twist with a fun and eye-catching decorative display at the entrance, with a huge Christmas cracker and hundreds of giant baubles.

Now it is adorned with some of the most festive decorations you will see in December 2023, all wrapped up with a stunning giant red bow.
Customers were quick to comment on Facebook, with one saying: “Simply gorgeous… we are so lucky here in sparkly Christmassy Southport. Thank you everyone who made it happen!”
There are also plenty of Christmas themed events for all the family taking place in the run up to the big day and of course you can enjoy a meal from one of the resident food traders with everything from Mexican to burgers, pizzas and Asian fusion dishes on offer.
