5 reasons why you should go and see Miles Kane at Hangar34
2 years ago
Miles Kane is back. The singer, and sometimes Alex Turner collaborator, has released a new single, has an album in the pipeline and today announced a summer tour.
Miles Kane, from Meols in Wirral, will bring the tour to Liverpool in August. He has also hinted that he might be performing in the city before then as part of the Eurovision celebrations next month.
Here are five reasons we love Miles Kane:
His new single Troubled Son is brilliant
Kane describes the track as going back to his roots with swirling guitars and honest lyrics.
The song comes from new album One Man Band, which was recorded in Liverpool with his musician cousin James Skelly of the Coral.
Troubled Son is sure to become a live favourite with a singalong chorus. Kane says it is âfresh and anthemicâ.
The new album will be released in August.
He has impressive celebrity friends
Kane and Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner are confirmed best mates.
They work together in side project Last Shadow Puppets, and the Arcticâs frontman was one of the first people to hear the new album, sitting on Kaneâs sofa.
They go to watch bands together and Kane has been a guest star at Monkeysâ gigs, sometimes joining them onstage for fan favourite 505.
He is also mates with Blossomsâ lead singer Tom Ogden who has written for the new album along with Kieran Shudall from Liverpool band Circa Waves.
Other celebrity friends include Everton legend Leighton Baines, while Kane famously dated high profile models Suki Waterhouse and Agyness Deyn.
He was even in a Beatles covers band with Graham Coxon of Blur.
He has great style
Whether heâs dressed head to toe in a white tracksuit on stage, or sporting the full mod look, Kane is a keen fashion fan.
While music will always be his first love he took his fashion interests to a new level with a capsule collection for Fred Perry, including a velour tracksuit top, polo shirts featuring the classic Perry logo and a black bomber jacket.
Heâs a big supporter of up and coming bands
Kane helped curate his own stage at the 2019 Skeleton Coast festival in Leasowe Castle, along with cousin Skelly.
The line up that day featured fellow Wirral musicians The Mysterines, who are slowly building a reputation as one of the best indie bands around, and Scottish group The Snuts, who enjoyed a number one album last year.
He clearly has an ear for talent.
He loves EurovisionÂ
Kane admits he would âloveâ to write a Eurovision song with a rock ân roll edge and thinks he would do a really good job.
He told Radio X he loves the event and will be in Liverpool the week leading up to the big final, staying at his mumâs in Meols.
A Miles Kane Eurovision song would certainly be worth hearing.
