5 things to do at The Albert Dock this Christmas (& check out this exclusive look at their 3D light display)

This year the Albert Dock has provided us with more events & attractions than ever before. It was a train lovers dream weekend when Steam on the Dock rolled into town in May, they took us back in time for Vintage on the Dock, gave us a feast of amazing music for Folk on the Dock in August, let us in to the Docks’ biggest secrets with Heritage, and of course the Pirates invaded once more back in September for Pirate Festival on the Dock. Watch all of our coverage from all of this year’s events below.

But for now get the scarves out, start thinking about what topping you want on your hot chocolate, and let the Christmas countdown begin because the Albert Dock are bringing a huge festive celebration to Liverpool this year.

Here are 5 things you won’t want to miss…

In collaboration with immersive technology specialists Crucial FX and National Museums Liverpool, the iconic Grade I Listed Dr Martin Luther King Jr building (originally built as the Dock Traffic Office) will showcase a fantastically festive illuminated display every night from December 3 to January 2 (dusk-11pm). Watch in wonderment as the Albert Dock clock-keeper invites you to take a peak inside at the intricate workings of a Christmas clock. Time is ticking, the cogs are turning, and Christmas is fast approaching!

Albert Dock joins an illustrious group of famous landmarks such as Big Ben, Wellington Arch and Vienna Royal Palace, who have all been subject to the innovative wizardry of Crucial FX – an internationally recognised company whose unique application of sound, light, projection and virtual reality has wowed audiences the world over.
