6 places you can run Race for Life this year

27/02/2020

You don’t have to be Mo Farah or Dina Asher-Smith – when it comes Race for Life, it’s not about being fastest past the finish line but having a passion to complete the course.

Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life is about people showing support for the 41,100 people who are diagnosed with cancer every year in the north west, running for loved ones they’ve lost or celebrating those who have survived.

Since it began 26 years ago, more than 9.5m have taken part – and now runners are being asked to sign up for this year’s marathon charity event.

So, what do you think?

Who can take part?

Everyone. Nowadays men and women can take part as well as kids.

The only age barrier is for the Pretty Muddy 5k race in which participants have to be 13 or over because of the nature of the obstacles BUT all children can take part in Pretty Muddy Kids as long as they are accompanied by an adult and reach the height criteria.

The races you can run

Depending on how far you want to run – or how clean you want to stay – there are three events you can take part in:

 – 5k race

 – 10k race

Pretty Muddy – It’s the same as the other 5k races – only with muck!  It’s a muddy obstacle course that everyone, no matter their ability, can take part in, so you can climb, crawl and  slide your way to beating cancer.
