Advertorial
M is for Municipal, as well the Magical Memories that you will create at this fabulous city hotel and spa.
Already a favourite, there are even more reasons to check in to this iconic Liverpool venue and its amazing Palm Court bar this summer, with a brand-new menu and incredible cocktails that some might say are beyond your Wildest Dreams to tempt you in!
Laura Delaney, digital marketing executive, says:
“We are focused on creating those memorable moments at The Municipal Hotel & Spa, and they begin the minute you walk into the hotel and the Palm Court bar, which really has that wow factor.
“It doesn’t matter whether you’re celebrating a birthday or any occasion, we want to make every visit special.
“There’s a really calming atmosphere in the Palm Court bar, it’s chilled and relaxed, and when you step foot inside it’s like you’re no longer in Liverpool, but somewhere like Miami.”
And if that doesn’t persuade you to put a ‘Must-do Municipal’ message in your calendar, here are 6 reasons that will:
Marvellous new menu
There’s a great new menu just in time for summer with everything from nibbles to small and large plates, so whether you’re wanting romantic drinks for two, a pre-theatre bite or an evening of food and chat with your mates, there’s everything you could want or need. Nibbles include Moroccan-style hummus with toasted pitta bread and warm focaccia with honey and truffle butter melt, while small plates feature salt & pepper squid with aioli, Korean sesame crispy chicken, and locally smoked salmon. If dinner is what you fancy, what about steak frites with chimichurri salsa and fries, or crispy fried gnocchi with kale, wild mushrooms, rocket, lemon, and pangritata?
Creative cocktails
Municipals’ mixologists are experts at creating an extensive range of cocktails, from classics such as a Margarita or Manhattan, or one of their amazing tea-infused specials – think Earl Grey Sour with Tanqueray No.10 gin, Earl Grey syrup, grapefruit juice and egg white, or a Little Lie Down – Tanqueray gin, strawberry syrup, chamomile syrup, pomelo and pink peppercorn tonic, and prosecco. We reckon you have to try Municipal’s signature cocktail Botanic Negroni, with Whitley Neil gin, Suze, and Lillet Blanc. And Laura adds: “Our mixologists are happy to put a twist on any of the cocktails – or create something new just for you.” So many reasons to say cheers!
Surround yourself with history
This former council building was opened in 1866. Grade II listed, its design was influenced by Italian and French Renaissance styles and is well known for its pyramidal spire along with pavilions at each corner topped by ornamental ironwork, and its iconic clock and bell tower. It remained as offices for the council until 2017 and has been lovingly and lavishly renovated and recreated to join the Accor group’s prestigious boutique brand with many of its original features retained.
Palm Court perfection
You can’t fail to be impressed by the state-of-the art stunning Palm Court bar in the central atrium which is waiting to welcome everyone who steps through The Municipal’s door with its ornate decorations, grand pillars, and awe-inspiring towering palm trees. It’s a little ‘lot’ of luxury.
Music
There’s live music every Friday evening in the Palm Court bar so if you want entertainment or to add a few musical notes to your night out, it’s there for you. Whether it’s a special celebratory evening or simply special because you’re there, their friendly staff will be there to capture the moment with a Polaroid snap. You’ll take one photo home as a keepsake, while they keep another to remember and share the experience with you.
