6 reasons why The Secret Garden is the perfect hidden spot this summer

All this beautiful sunshine’s got us all thinking of one thing – getting outdoors somewhere gorgeous for long iced cocktails or a chilled glass or two of fizz to keep cool.
Summer’s come early this year so we want to make the most of every minute and Liverpool city centre’s got just the place to do that – The Secret Garden at Gino’s.
It’s been relaunched for a fresh season by Gino’s at INNSiDE on Old Hall Street, so if you’ve not discovered it for yourself yet here are 6 reasons why The Secret Garden is the perfect hidden spot this summer …
It’s like being on an Italian holiday in Liverpool!
The team at Gino’s were aiming for an Italian holiday vibe when they first imagined The Secret Garden and they’ve absolutely got it. Surrounded by lush greenery, there’s plenty of outdoor lounge seating to soak up the sun while you try out a wide selection of drinks including Italians’ favourite aperitivo Aperol Spritz. And, when it gets too hot – because now we’re counting on these high temperatures lasting – huge umbrellas give you some nice shade.
There’s a dedicated Spritz hour!
Start the weekend off in the best way at Gino’s Secret Garden with Spritz Hour every Friday from 4pm-6pm, when Gino Rewards members can get £5 Aperol, Campari or Negronia Spagliato. Members can also enjoy a Summer of Rosé, with discounted premium Italian and French rosé wine and Champagne every day.
And it’s not just all about the drinks
The Secret Garden serves up some delicious Italian snacks to nibble on while you enjoy them too – authentic cicchetti which have been created by the chefs at Gino’s restaurant. Resident DJs add to the summery holiday feel, playing sets packed with Med beach club-inspired tunes.
Now you can have a fabulous full day or night out in one venue
The beauty of Gino’s, especially in the summer, is you can have an amazing experience without having to go anywhere else. You can start things off in the restaurant, have a fantastic Italian meal, then head up to the first floor for the outdoor experience of The Secret Garden. Sit back with cocktails and snacks and watch the sun go down there then head back inside and up to the 18th floor and the super-sexy 360 Sky Bar for more drinks and stunning panoramic views over the city and beyond to end the night in style.
You don’t have to worry about the odd shower
Even in Italy, it rains sometimes but Italians are all about the good times and la dolce vita so they never let a little shower put a dampener on having fun. If the clouds start gathering, just head inside and upstairs to the 360 Sky Bar and focus on the wines, cocktails and beers until they pass!
It’s open all afternoon and evening and there’s no need to book
The Secret Garden is a lovely tranquil space which can seat up to 170, and it takes walk-ins as well as bookings. It gets busy on gorgeous days so it’s best to book via the website and not take any chances. It’s open every day from 12 noon until 11pm so now all we need is long sunny days and evenings right through summer and we’ve got the perfect place to spend them.
