6 reasons why you should book tickets to see Peter Pan at the M&S Bank Arena
1 year ago
Peter Pan flies in to Liverpool for one night – and two afternoon matinees – only this Christmas, and it’s going to be an absolute cracker!
You can catch the much-loved panto about the boy who never grew up when it arrives in the city on Saturday and Sunday, December 2-3, and this version of Peter Pan is going to be a big budget spectacular with more shine and sparkle than Strictly’s glitterball.
JM Barrie’s classic tale is always a winner, but producers promise this adaptation is going to blow audiences away. And if that doesn’t get you racing to buy tickets to get the festive season off to a dazzling start, here’s six reasons that will.
The show stars Boy George!
The fabulous and flamboyant Karma Chameleon is making his panto debut in the extravaganza which is a good enough reason on its own to get your bum on a seat – and even he can’t wait. He says: “I’m really looking forward to playing Captain Hook and showing off my evil side!
“I make my first entrance on a life size galleon that sails around the stage in front of an amazing water-wall fountain and, although the show has traditional pantomime elements, it is so much more … and I get a chance to fight a giant animatronic crocodile. What’s not to like?”
It’s at the brilliant M&S Bank Arena
There’s nowhere else that could do justice to this huge spectacular in Liverpool than the waterfront arena that’s used to hosting the biggest and best concerts and shows with the world’s greatest stars. The incredible venue which welcomed Eurovision and was applauded by people across the globe will be the perfect place for all the excitement to unfold and let the special effects work their magic.
It’s a spectacular spin on the timeless classic adventure
Everybody loves the tale of Peter Pan, the mischievous boy who turns up at the Darling’s home in search of his shadow. Peter befriends children Wendy, John and Michael and teaches them to fly (with a little help from fairy dust) before he and Tinker Bell whisk them off to Neverland, to meet the Lost Boys and pirates, including the dastardly Captain Hook. It’s always an adventure – but never before has it been so fantastically re-imagined.
The animated digital set redefines the genre with an immersive experience of magic
There’s panto – and there’s panto, and this is on a scale of its own. World’s Biggest Productions has created a show that brings the story to life with all the traditional fun and fiasco of pantomime, and then added hi-tech digital sets, animatronic characters, and larger-than-life effects (and star!) that envelope the audience and make them feel like they’re part of the adventure.
The show will feature cirque performers, aerial and escape stunts and more!
You want action, dare-devil acrobats, and breath-taking feats? You’ve certainly got them in this awesome adventure that’ll get you on the edge of your seat in disbelief as a dozen cirque performers twist and somersault oh-so-very-high in the air. There’s even a death-defying escape from a locked water tank … Harry Houdini eat your heart out!
There’s even a giant battle where the audience throw cannon balls at Hook’s ship
We all love the chance to be a kid and you can let the five-year-old inside you leap out as you get stuck into the action to help Peter, the Darlings and the Lost Boys in their battle against the evil Captain Hook. This is fun and mayhem on a massive scale – but be warned, Hook might decide to throw a few back!
