7 reasons to book a Discovery Health Test with Randox

Advertorial
There’s an old saying that if you’ve not got your health, you’ve not got anything, which is why it’s massively important to look after it.
Yet while many of us have to take our cars in for an annual MOT to make sure they’re safe and in tip-top condition, it’s sadly not something we have to do with ourselves.
That’s where Randox Health wellbeing centres come in. Their Discovery Health Test is a great, comprehensive body check that enables people to take a pro-active approach to monitor and improve their health.
“It’s about taking control of your health,” says Caitlin Heaney, marketing administrative for Randox. “Too often people might feel run down or tired but they dismiss it because they’re busy, or they don’t want to bother their GP with a niggling problem they can’t quite pinpoint or identify what it is.
“But it’s in everyone’s interests to be pro-active about their health, and to find out what those issues are and do something about them or, better still, prevent them in the first place.”
What is the Discovery Health Test?
The Discovery Health Test is the ‘perfect full body MOT’ and a collection of all the tests you need to take a proactive approach to help prevent future illness, says Caitlin. It measures around 150 data points linked to 20 different key areas, including heart, hormone and digestive health, to give you a current overview of what’s going on inside your body.
Testing is simple and painless
The test is straightforward. During your appointment your weight and body measurements will be taken, a small amount of blood will be taken, and you will be asked to provide a urine sample.
And…it’s quick!
Caitlin says: “The average appointment time is only 20 minutes and you will get the results in just 2-4 working days.”
How do I get the results?
Patients are given the results in digital and hard copy form so they can go through them and study them in their own time. The report is easy to interpret and includes a full breakdown of all the results and any steps you can take next – and if there is anything you don’t understand, at no extra cost you can opt to have a health and wellbeing discussion with a Randox health advisor who will go through the results with you and explain what everything means.
Green for go
The report is presented in a traffic light format, with results within a normal healthy range highlighted in green, those just out of range, insufficient or suggesting a future problem in orange – and any out of the advised range shown up in red.
“That means you need to take action,” says Caitlin. That can mean a visit to the GP or, simply, a change in lifestyle. “Depending on the issue it could be a very simple remedy. But it’s giving you the opportunity to look after your health and detect problems early – or do something before they arise.
“People might dismiss being tired for instance to long hours at work, when there could be a vitamin deficiency causing it that the test will identify.”
Great value
The test costs £195 to protect your health, which is priceless.
