7 reasons you should go to Soundbites Festival at the Albert Dock this weekend

Advertorial
Royal Albert Dock is bringing together three things Liverpool absolutely loves – live music, food and drink – in one brand-new free festival this Bank Holiday weekend.
Soundbites will showcase some of the finest music talent, performing on micro stages around the dock, alongside special al fresco dining and drinks options just for the event.
There’ll even be a guest appearance by a big (and by big, we mean unmissably huge!) Glastonbury favourite on Sunday.
So, for a fabulous weekend of beats and eats, here are 7 reasons you should go to Soundbites at Royal Albert Dock…
It’s free and family-friendly
Royal Albert Dock has a full family-friendly festival line-up over the weekend and it’s free to enjoy so you can just make the most of the last Bank Holiday of summer and keep the whole family entertained without having to book or buy tickets.
You can see one of the favourites of this year’s Glastonbury Festival
Forget Dua Lipa and Shania, there was only one enormous green dancefloor-filling hit of Glasto this year and that was Disco Turtle! The 3-metre tall, 8-metre long VIP is making a guest appearance at the dock on Sunday, carrying a built-in DJ booth on its shell and all ready to play a soundtrack of disco classics. Disco Turtle will be moving and grooving between the Martin Luther King Jr Building and Hartley Quay (outside the Maritime Museum) playing three sets at 2-2.30pm, 5-6pm and 8-8.30pm.
Catch another rising star festival favourite – Liverpool band CASINO
Indie soul funk five-piece CASINO is coming off the back of a busy festival summer across the UK as well as supporting The Zutons. Now they’re back home and headlining Saturday at the Soundbites Festival, playing two half-hour sets outside the Martin Luther King Jr building, at 2.30pm and 4.30pm.
There’ll be plenty more live music all weekend too
The dock is going to be filled with live music on Saturday and Sunday afternoons from 2pm with performances from some of the best talent based in Merseyside.
Three micro stages will be outside the Martin Luther King Jr Building, Britannia Courtyard by The Beatles Story and Mermaid Courtyard near the Liverpool Mountain sculpture, with a line-up of artists including Irish soul’ n’ roll roots duo Seafoam Green and local indie band Ambedo Blue.Â
Enjoy tasty al fresco food and drink specials
Royal Albert Dock is known as a great place for cafes, restaurants and bars, and for Soundbites you can enjoy a special selection of signature dishes and drinks from outdoor stalls. Sample cocktails and food at Revolucion de Cuba, delicious Italian treats from Francie’s cannoli cart, there’s an outdoor bar at The Pumphouse, vodka cocktails at Revolution, a falafel stand at Maray, bubble tea at Rosa’s Thai and more. There’ll also be a food and drink-themed homeware cart at The Nest.
Kids can grab a selfie on giant deckchairs and with cheeky giant seagulls
Giant seagull characters will be roaming around, causing mischief and keeping little visitors entertained during the weekend. Get up close for a gull selfie, and don’t forget to take a summery pic in the dock’s super-sized deckchair in Britannia Courtyard.
Make a day of it and visit the dock’s attractions
Go for the music, food and drink… stay all day! Soak up the festival atmosphere, tuck into some fantastic food and drink, and then make the most of the dock’s gorgeous waterfront location and fascinating attractions for all ages including the Maritime Museum and The Beatles Story.
