8 Really good, last-minute Father’s Day presents he can enjoy in Liverpool

Lets face it, Dad’s are generally the most laid back of the parentals and we reckon they’d be made up to have a day of peace rather than a load of fuss?

With that in mind, we’ve lined up some no-effort, maximum impact gifts that your dad will be well impressed with this Sunday. You’ve still got a few days to pick up a suitably funny/sarcastic/sweet card and simply slip some of these event tickets inside to earn some mega brownie points. With more comedy, music and theatre shows coming to Liverpool’s biggest venues than ever before, why not treat your dad to an evening out and a pint this Father’s Day. Job done!

1 – One Night of Queen, Empire Theatre

If your dad has never sported a Freddy Mercury tasche, is he even your dad? One Night of Queen (Thursday 22nd June 2017) will take your dad right back to the rocking 80’s and is a spectacular live concert, recreating the look, sound, pomp and showmanship of arguably the greatest rock band of all time. Get your tickets here. Tasche optional.

2 – Micky Flannagan, Echo Arena

Father's Day

Audiences cant get enough of cockney geezer, Micky’s take on every day life. Having added an extra date (1st July 2017) to his ‘An Another Fing’ Tour, treat your dad to a night of laughs and knowing looks when Micky touches on married life! Simply hilarious. Tickets and info here.

3 – Billy Bragg in Conversation, Liverpool Philharmonic

Another unmissable evening for those really into their music history is Billy Bragg in Conversation (Monday 3rd July 2017). Billy traces how the guitar came to the forefront of music in the UK and led directly to the British Invasion of the US charts in the 1960s. Very popular this one, click here for tickets.

4 – Gary Numan, Exhibition Centre Liverpool

As part of the 50 Summers of Love celebrations, Father of British Synth-pop, Gary Numan headlines this Thursday night gig (Thursday 27th July 2017) with one hell of a showcase. Lining up tracks from his epic career which has spanned 40 years, this is a unique opportunity to catch the maestro doing what he does best. Tickets here.

5 – Greg Davies, You Magnificent Beast, Empire Theatre

Undoubtedly one of the kings of British comedy, Greg Davies brings his brand new live stand up tour to the Empire Theatre on 25-26th September 2017. Take your dad to see Greg’s first tour in four years which is set to have the audience buzzing with his brilliantly dry sense of humour. Tickets here.

6 – Legends Live, Echo Arena

You can tick a load of boxes in one go with tickets for Legends Live coming to the Echo Arena on 18th October 2017. If your dad is into his music he might just enjoy this old school line up including Suzi Quatro, Hot Chocolate, David Essex and The Osmonds. We reckon your mum might just get in on the act for this gig too, treat them both and order tickets here.

7 – Rob Brydon, Empire Theatre

Rob Brydon brings not only a stand up show but a wealth of phenomenal impersonations to the Empire Theatre on Friday 29th September 2017 and with a whole new show of fast-paced, quick witted comedy to showcase, there’s gotta be something in there to make your dad chuckle. Find out more and book your tickets here.

8 – Jools Holland and his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra, Liverpool Philharmonic

We’ve all watching Jools’ Hootenany on New Years Eve at least once, featuring a diverse range of special guests including the late Amy Winehouse, George Harrison and legends like Eric Clapton and Luther Vandross. There’s no doubt the live show on Saturday 15th July 2017 will be equally thrilling as Jools and his orchestra rock this beautiful venue. Tickets and more info here.
