8 Reasons to take part in the Santa Dash this December

The annual winter 5k fun run returns for its 15th edition and it’s never been more fun to take part.

Calling all fun runners! Merseyside based race organisers BTR have announced that the 15th annual Santa Dash, the biggest festive fun run in the UK is back and taking place on Sunday 2nd December.

This 5k waterfront/city centre course attracts people from across the Liverpool City Region in their thousands and this year, we want you to join us on the start line. Your Santa suit is included in the race registration price and whether you’re 1 or 101 you’re invited to take part.

If you still need a bit of convincing that this is an amazing way to spend a December morning, here’s 8 reasons to take part in the Santa Dash 2018….

1 – You don’t have to be an experienced runner! The fun run attracts joggers, runners, individuals, group, families, charity runners, and corporate organisations.

2 – You can glam up your Santa Dash suit! Better yet, if you’re quick, you could get your hands on a coveted blue Santa suit, these are snapped up in the first few days of registration so get your skates on.

3 – It’s brilliant fun seeing the look on visitors faces! Sunday morning is a busy time for people checking out of our city hotels or visiting to start their Christmas shopping. 10,000 hot and sweaty Santa’s certainly livens up a trip to Liverpool!

4 – You can fundraise for charity. Why not sign up on JustGiving and get friends, family and co-workers to sponsor your Santa Dash 5k?

5 –  There’s a special race just for kids. If you’ve got little ones under 12, they can take place in their very own 1k race from 11am

6 – The Santa Dash is accessible and open to everyone. Wheelchair participants, prams and dogs are very welcome. Even unicyclists regularly take part, which causes quite a stir along the route.

7 – Above all else, you get a boss medal! Every year the Santa Dash organsiers, BTR pull out a new design for the 5k and kids 1k finishers, and every year we wear them with pride for the rest of the day!

8 – The sense of achievement, the bevs in the pub afterwards and looking back at your Santa Dash photo’s for years to come are worth the entry fee alone!

Santa suits are available to collect now from St Johns Shopping Centre. To register head to www.btrliverpool.com and follow @btrliverpool on Twitter for regular updates.
