8 Reasons why a visit to the brand new Strawberry Field will stay with you forever.
The re-imagined Strawberry Field site, made famous by John Lennon has undergone an incredible transformation.
After 70 years as a former Salvation Army children’s home and following an extraordinary renovation, Strawberry Field is unveiled as a must-see attraction for Beatles, music and history fans alike. Since closing its doors in 2005, the Woolton based site – which served the local community and its young people for decades – is now ready to unveil its incredible new look.
The Victorian house and grounds – once the play ground of the city’s most famous son – has been transformed into a visitors attraction with something for everyone. A community cafe, shop and beautiful landscaped gardens are all free for visitors to explore, while a state of the art, must-see exhibition provides fans with an awe-inspiring look at John Lennon’s childhood and the secrets of his historic site.
Alongside the visitor attractions, Strawberry Fields has taken inspiration from its past endeavours to develop an amazing legacy programme. Steps To Work is a collaboration with The City of Liverpool College and aims to support young people with learning disabilities to gain skills, experience and gainful employment.
Your visit or donation to the new Strawberry Field will positively impact the lives of local people – just starting out on their journey. We can’t help but think John would be thrilled.
