The day after the night before was always going to be a heavy one for LFC fans, but very few could have predicted a performance like that. The stage was set for the Champions League semi-final second leg at Anfield, the Barca fans had been milling around round town, soaking up the atmosphere and the reds were ready to pull off one of the greatest European comebacks ever.
With Salah and Firmino out some were nervous, doubtful. The 3-0 score line from the first leg left a lot of work to do. But any red knows, a match on home ground is a different game entirely. Klopp’s red men somehow stepped up another gear and made a mockery of the Barca defence with 4, incredible goals, two a piece for Wijnauldum and Origi, which set the Anfield atmosphere and the city pubs, bars and living rooms, alight.

It just doesnt make sense. After the 3.0 defeat, the battle at Newcastle, the Kompany blow yesterday, no Salah, no Firmino – just HOW, HOW does this team do THAT tonight!!! Words fail. So proud, so very proud to be a #LFC fan. Klopp, Klopp…JURGEN KLOPP!!!!!

Is it acceptable if I ring work to say I’m not coming in because I couldn’t sleep because Liverpool are going to the Champions League final?
Asking for a friend. #LFC
