The presents are wrapped, the turkey is stuffed, here’s how to make the most of your Christmas Eve in Liverpool.
If you’re a regular Christmas Eve party-goer, diner, movie fan or cocktail sipper, there’s plenty of fun to be had around the city. From dancing on the bars, delicious menus, family films and icy activities for all the family, we’ve got a way to celebrate Christmas Eve in Liverpool to keep you occupied until its time for pjays and bed…..whatever time you roll in.
Here’s 8 ways to spend your Christmas Eve in Liverpool….
1 – Play the Juke Box at Coyote Ugly
Brand new, Bold Street venue, Coyote Ugly, will be open all day on Christmas Eve, with shenanigans continuing right through until 3am Christmas morning! The famous Coyote Ugly dancing girls will provide entertainment all evening and customers are encouraged to join them on the table tops to dance the night away. Be warned though, there’s no heels allowed on the tables so wearing flats or going barefoot may be the best option if you plan to party like the Coyotes do!
2 – Can’t sleep? Head to Insomnia at 24 Kitchen Street
After the success of last year, 24 Kitchen Street is hosting Insomnia on Christmas Eve, hailed as the best underground dance event at the Baltic Triangle. Think intimate surroundings and great vibes with resident Insomnia DJs playing the best in House and Techno, in this edgy lock-out party. Tickets are available here.
3 – Get your skates on at Liverpool Christmas Ice Festival
This year’s Liverpool Christmas Ice Festival down on our Pier Head is the biggest and best yet, with something for absolutely every member of the family. There are rides, an Ice Slide and Santa’s Grotto for the kids whilst the over 18s can head into the Ice Bar or Apres Lodge. Pop Up Food & Drink stalls give you plenty to browse and, after all that, the whole gang can glide on the ice (or hold on to the sides for 45 minutes). Head down during the day, or the evening.
4 – Raise a glass to the 1920’s at the Peaky Blinders Bar
This highly anticipated bar in the heart of the Cain’s Brewery Village in the Baltic Triangle is having its very own Christmas Eve bash. And we all know that parties among the Peaky Blinders crew are never boring! Based on the hit BBC TV show, this new venue, which is similar to its Southport counterpart will have the UK’s number one Amy Winehouse Tribute Act performing and passes can be exchanged on the door for a wristband and drinks voucher. Tickets are available here. Purchase yours now to guarantee entry…by order of the Peaky Blinders!
5 – Go Old School at The Cavern
The Cavern is holding a free event from 10am until 7pm called The Cavern Club Front Stage. With live music from various solo acoustic musicians starting at 12pm, including Clark Gilmour, Tony Coburn, and Jimmy Coburn, what better way to kick-start the Christmas Eve party than with a dose of live music in the heart of the Cavern Quarter? Find out more here.
6 – A feast of biblical proportions at Alma De Cuba
Although not strictly open past curfew, Alma de Cuba will be putting on a Christmas Eve menu for those lucky enough to bag a table in time. For ÂŁ45 a head, customers will be treated to a three-course meal, drinks and canapes. The last tables are being taken at 7pm. Check out the menu and book your table here before they’re all gone.
7 – Sing Carols (or pop hits) loud and proud at Bar Hutte
Located directly below the Liverpool ONE Christmas tree, Bar Hutte offers a warm bar, fabulous winter drinks and a funky place to chill mid Christmas shop. Book yourselves a booth and get loud with the karaoke while sipping a thoroughly deserved mulled wine or glass of bubbles to truly get into the festive spirit. This unique bar is a scouse take on an Alpine Ski Resort and the private huts are available to book for parties of 6 or 10 for just ÂŁ20. Fancy dress is encouraged and there is a chance to upgrade to a champagne package too! Find out more here.
8 – Celebrate the holidays, Hampton’s Style at The Club House
No matter what time of the year, The Club House at Liverpool ONE is one of the most beautiful eateries in the city, however, during the festive period, this Upstate New York style club house completely outdoes itself. Celebrate Christmas Eve in Liverpool with style as The Club House treats you to a delightful festive menu that is as reasonably priced as it is delicious, drinks ranging from mulled wine to creative cocktails, live acoustic music and the exclusive pop up venue, The Lodge.
