9 Iconic Merseyside clubs that have made Reminisce 2017 the unmissable event of the year

It’s just days until Reminisce returns to Sherdley Park for an all dayer of epic clubland proportions.

Whether you N-joi-d yourself at Quadrant Park, got yourself into a State on Dale Street or regularly walked home after the Paradox, you can relive the best nights of your life at Reminisce 2017 in one (or all) of the 6 giant arenas at this years festival. With more than 120 international DJ’s, acts and MC’s heading for St Helens this weekend, we take a look at the iconic Merseyside venues that have provided clubbers with more than 25 years of raving and misbehaving.

Here’s our top 9 Merseyside clubs that have inspired Reminisce 2017…..

1 – Quadrant Park

Were you a regular at this absolutely legendary Bootle club? The Quadrant Park will always be a special place for the early 90’s clubbers, including our Lee who caught up with Quad DJ John Kelly for a look back. Don’t forget to check out the BRAND NEW Quadrant Park Arena at Reminisce 2017, strictly for the over 30’s who kept it real the first time round.

2 – The 051

The Guide Liverpool

Just looking up at the battered Mount Pleasant club sign brings a smile to the faces of faithful 051 ravers and brings the memories flooding back from the 90’s and early noughties. Say no more. Get Eve Gallagher ‘Have It All’ on loop and throw your hands up in the air.

3 – The State

This Dale Street night spot never did look like a traditional club, but get inside and the iconic neon sign let you know it was about to go down. Which clique were you in? Come back to 2015 and watch as Lee goes back inside The State and organises his own huge birthday bash at the club he loved so much! Remember the stairs of doom?

4 – Paradox

Come on we all adored Saturday Night Live nights with Kev Seed and the Radio City gang and if you haven’t staggered down to Walton Vale at 4am trying to get a cab, you haven’t lived. Tweet us your best Paradox anthem @TheGuideLpool and prepare to relive some of the best nights at Reminisce on Saturday.

5 – VR Bar

If you can click play on the above video and not get full on goosebumps, you definitely weren’t a regular at VR Bar. Lasgo ‘Something’ was the anthem of this iconic Liverpool club. Hearing it again should give you mad cravings for lots and lots of vodka red bull too!

6 – Voodoo at Le Bateau

It was a sad day when Duke Street nightclub, Le Bateau closed its doors back in April 2012 but memories of amazing Voodoo nights out will remain fresh in our minds at Reminisce this weekend as the floor-filling tunes ring out. Just look at that phenomenal atmosphere, go on admit it, you were up the front pointing away like ‘The Ref says play on’!

7 – The Buzz

Who went ‘The Buzz’ in their best clobber to pose? And to pay over the odds for drinks? And to have the best club nights of their lives? Everyone says The Buzz was a different kind of club, bit more up market, bit more swanky even, but more thing is for sure, there would be one hell of a party there every weekend. We’re dying to see your old pics from this Skelhorne Street clubbing icon. Tweet us @TheGuideLpool with yours.

8 – Pleasure Rooms

If you wore Ben Sherman shirts, loved a live MC and knew all the words to Pretty Green Eyes, chances are you were a regular at the Pleasure Rooms. A Liverpool rite of passage back in the 90’s, you’d end up in the Pleasure Rooms and then grab either a dodgy kebab or wander up to China Town to refuel. Some absolute bangers regularly smashed our delighted teenage ear drums here.

9 – Sunrise

Sunrise, above 051 was officially the place to continue your night out, and this was the anthem! Press play and we guarantee you’ll still know all the words! Bringing back memories? We loved Heaven, Castles in the Sky, Will I and Reason and so many more around this time too. Those were the days! Well get ready to recreate it at Reminisce 2017 this Saturday….in your Hunters!

The fun doesn’t stop there. With 3 official after parties taking place in both Liverpool and Widnes there’s no need to trudge off home! Hangar 34, The Brickworks have got you sorted if you’re heading back into the city or head to The Establishment in Widnes to rave a bit longer.

Get your official after party tickets and more info by heading to www.reminiscefestival.com or by clicking here and don’t forget to follow @ReminisceFest for regular updates ahead of the event.

Where did you go as a teenage raver? Send your best memories and any old school pics to @TheGuideLpool on Twitter or email us info@theguideliverpool.com and we’ll share the best on our socials.
