Following the recent appointment of Melanie Lewis as the Chief Executive of The Shakespeare North Playhouse, recruitment has now begun to fill a further four senior positions at this major arts venue.
- Director of Marketing & Commercial
- Director of Finance
- Head of Engagement
- Head of Technical & Facilities
This is another major milestone for the project as these key appointments will play a central and defining role in the ultimate operation and success of The Playhouse which opens in Prescot in 2022.
Max Steinberg CBE, Chair, Shakespeare North Trust said:
“These are really exciting positions and ones that will form the backbone of the Senior Management Team. For the right candidates these roles will provide a rare opportunity to be involved, from the outset, in delivery of this major cultural asset. This is incredibly exciting – these kinds of projects and opportunities don’t come along very often.
If you have the right skills and experience and would relish the chance to be involved in such an amazing project, then I would urge you to find out more and apply. We have already had a lot of interest in these roles. I am very hopeful we will be able to attract the highest quality applicants and I very much look forward to adding to the team.”
Construction work on The Playhouse continues to progress well, with the internal timber framed theatre now in place on site. Modelled on the Inigo Jones cockpit-in-court masterpiece of the 17th Century, the theatre will sit at the heart of The Playhouse which when complete will also include an inclusive education programme, digital gallery, studio space and an outdoor performance garden.
Alongside innovative, high-profile Shakespearean drama, The Playhouse will also host a wide-ranging programme of performances and cultural activity that spans art forms and appeals to a broad range of audiences.
