October means it’s pumpkin carving, fancy dressing, Timewarping season again and in Liverpool there’s always loads of ghostly goings on around Halloween.
So if you’re looking for somewhere to go to celebrate, we’ve gathered some events and things going on that you can get involved in.

Halloween Special at Tres Liverpool with DJ Dave Graham
Liverpool legend of the decks Dave Graham will be keeping the dancefloor packed at cocktail bar Tres in Temple Court on Saturday October 30, and he’s bound to have raided the dressing up box for the night. If you’re looking for a glamorous place to get to know a few spirits better then this is it – the cocktails are amazing.

Wing It presents The Bunker – Halloween Edition at Liverpool Arts Bar
Maybe take a cushion ready to hide behind because impro and storytelling specialists Wing It are promising one hell of a night at Liverpool Arts Bar on Friday October 29. There’ll be six original chilling tales supported by live music, shadow play and live sound effects, told in one-hour sessions (7-8pm, 8.30-9.30pm and 10-11pm).

Frieda Mo’s Halloween Pop-up Market
Get down to Frieda Mo’s vintage shop and café on Lark Lane on Saturday October 23 between 11am and 5pm and you’ll find a Halloween Pop-up Market with local creatives including Another Realm, Emily Radforth, Killing Moon, Little Btch Stitch and Girl On Purl Action, plus fresh bakes and drinks served all day.

Rocky Horror Sing-a-long Brunch at Boom: Battle Bar
It’s just a step to the left … and then a step to the right and if you end up at St George’s Way then you can get your suzzies and your Frank-n-furter on and join in the Rocky Horror Sing-a-long on Friday, Saturday and Sunday October 29-31. Expect bottomless pizza slices, prosecco, beers and horror cocktails.

Murphy’s Distillery & Bar Halloween Party
Murphy’s make some of the finest gins in Liverpool and for Halloween Beetlejuice becomes Beetle-gin on Saturday October 30 with a night of spooky costumes, themed cocktails, DJs and live music from Jack McAllister. It’s on from 6pm to 1am, and get dressed up because there’s a prize up for grabs for the best costume.

Halloween Special Friday Night Live at Punch Tarmey’s
The Courtyard at Punch Tarmey’s in Cains Brewery is having a bit of exclusive early Halloween spookery courtesy of InDemand Radio DJs Lee Butler, Steve Cocky, Dave Graham and Liam Hinks who’ll be broadcasting live from there on October 29. Get on the dancefloor for the most ghoulish Friday Night Live special line-up, tickets £10.

Fear Film Fest at the Bombed Out Church
Independent Liverpool is bringing all the horror (and some family-friendly ones) to the Bombed Out Church for two weeks, starting on Halloween, with 14 classic Halloween film screenings. The line-up includes The Shining on Sunday October 31, The Sixth Sense, Psycho, Corpse Bride, Nightmare On Elm Street and Blair Witch Project.

Join DJ Anton Powers at Liberté on the waterfront on Saturday October 30 for a fright-filled Halloween night to remember. The place will be all decked out for the night’s ghostly goings-on and anyone going along is encouraged to go all-out and do the same.

Little Shop of Horrors at British Music Experience
At the funnier end of the Halloween film favourites, rock comedy Little Shop of Horrors is a classic with Rick Moranis as nerdy Seymour trying to win over the love of his life and stop his human eating plant Audrey II from taking over the world. It gets a special Halloween screening at BME in the Cunard Building on Thursday October 28 from 7-9pm.

Spooktacular! at the Philharmonic Hall
There’s a Thriller of an interactive concert for all the family at the Phil on Saturday October 30, 2,30pm, when a full symphony orchestra will be playing goosebump-inducing pieces from Halloween to Hogwarts, including music from the video game Luigi’s Haunted Mansion. Dress to chill!

Garlands Bedlam Dead Famous Halloween Ball
The one and only Jodie Harsh will be special guest for this Halloween Ball, split over two rooms at Grand Central. Every night is mischief night when Garlands is behind it, so this one will be special – especially for the person who wins the amazing prize for best dressed. 10pm-4am, broadcast live on InDemand radio.

Star Wars Halloween Party at the Workshop in Crosby
Not May the 4th but October the 30th is the date for this year’s Halloween themed party at the Workshop on Crosby Road North. Get your light saber, maybe a little Chewie and some small plates because there’s a Star Wars theme. Character fancy dress is great, but any costume will do and there are 80s DJs on too.

If you fancy yourself as a bit of a painter, then this one’s for you. Paint and Sip encourages everyone to pick up a brush and have a go, no experience necessary.
