Liverpool’s got loads of great restaurants with cuisines from all over the globe, but there are times when you just want to keep it simple but SO goodâŠ
And whether you like it blue, well-done or somewhere in between, when it comes to steak restaurants in Liverpool there’s something for everyone!
From tomahawk to rib-eye or a finely carved fillet, thereâs plenty to choose from and if youâre wondering where to go, hereâs a few that would make our final cut.
Gaucho (Water Street)
Award-winning steak restaurant Gaucho has proved to be one of the cityâs biggest dining success stories, adding an amazing culinary adventure for carnivores to Liverpoolâs exciting food offering.
Since it opened last year, Gaucho has been greeting guest after guest to its No. 7 Water Street venue and creating a spectacular eating experience, along with more theatrical events like those offered at its immersive and intimate Beef Bar where you can watch as your personal chef prepares an Argentine Beef Tasting Menu.

Hawksmoor (India Buildings)

The amazing Hawksmoor, famous for its charcoal grilled, 35-day dry-aged steaks, has been delighting diners since its arrival at the end of 2022, and itâs not hard to see why.

Churrasco Steak House (Lark Lane and L1)
A traditional style steakhouse, offering everything from flat iron to ribeye, rump and the rest and you can have your steak served raw on a 350-degree lava stone to let it cook just as you like it. The steak stone stays hot until you get to even the last mouthful, and cooking this way keeps in more of the natural juices.
As well as a stack of starters, thereâs a selection of delicious sides to choose from, including Jerk-grilled corn ribs and salt and pepper veg, plus a choice of fries, salads and sauces. And at Aigburth, thereâs the Churrasco cabin for outdoor dining, with five private booths, a personal server and, when the weatherâs nice, skylights to let the sunshine in. You can even take the dog (although thereâs a good chance theyâll want a mouthful of your meal too!).

Bavette (Woolton Village)
Not just a steakhouse, Bavetteâs got wraps, burgers and a great grill menu – lamb, chicken, salmon and tuna! All the steaks are 28-32 day dry-aged and served with grilled corn and vegetables with a choice of sides and sauces, like beef-dripping, blue cheese and honey mustard.
If youâve got a birthday coming up or you fancy a treat, theyâve even got a 24K 600-700g gold fillet of beef, luxurious Wagyu beef wrapped in a 24-karat gold leaf, ranging in price from ÂŁ99-ÂŁ169.

Cowshed (Seel Street)
Youâre promised the personal touch from the âsmall but exceptionalâ kitchen team, whoâll offer advice on how each steak should be cooked for the best taste and tenderness.
They reckon if you love beef as much as they do, then you’re in the right place – and we wouldnât disagree. Theyâve got gorgeous grazing bites, like toasted goats cheese, truffle and mozzarella bread, and superb steaks, all chargrilled and served with a rocket and parmesan garnish and with stunning sides like savoy cabbage and green beans in chorizo cream.

Macello Meat House (Childwall and West Derby)
Macello Meat House opened its doors in 2017 but in five years has become a go-to name for steaks in the city, boasting two priorities, quality prime-cut steaks and a great atmosphere. Macello aims to provide a one-of-a-kind dining experience by offering the best selection of meats and fine wines.
You can watch your steak being cooked through an open concept kitchen and charcoal grill, and itâs sliced and seasoned in front of you. And, as well as steaks, thereâs a great selection of other dishes like Sea Bass Messina, fillet of seabass cooked with a lemon and tomato sauce, and served with oven cooked potatoes, and Chilli Cheese Chicken.

Marco Pierre White’s Steakhouse Bar & Grill (Hotel Indigo, Chapel Street)
Situated within the contemporary boutique Hotel Indigo, itâs a glam and elegant restaurant, yet with a relaxed and welcoming feel. The menuâs designed by the man himself with lots of home comfort food like Mr Lambâs Shepherdâs Pie and Classic Fish and Chips.
That said, thereâs a selection of ground beef burgers and, of course, steaks using grass-fed Campbell Brothersâ beef. As well as classic sirloin, fillet and ribeye cuts, there are some sumptuous signature steaks like Fillet Steak with Garlic King Prawns, served with bĂ©arnaise sauce, toasted sourdough and chunky chips.

Bread Street Kitchen and Bar (Paradise Street, Liverpool ONE)
A new(ish) one to the city – the first outside London – and, not surprisingly given Gordon Ramsayâs reputation, itâs catching on quickly as a firm favourite.
The restaurant itself is simply stylish, with a mouthwateringly good menu to match. Thereâs beef wellington, steamed sea bream and slow-roasted Cumbrian Saddleback pork belly – so you get the idea – and the steaks take centre stage with a selection of dry aged, rare breed beef cuts, matured in Gordonâs own Himalayan salt for a minimum of 35 days, like bone in prime rib and bone in prime sirloin.
Sauces include marrowbone and shallots, and thereâs a choice of sides including creamy mashed potato and honey roast carrots.

Toro’s Steakhouse (Bold Street)
With a name like Toroâs it couldnât be anything else, but thereâs no bull about it being a fab city restaurant. The UKâs original Halal Steakhouse chain with branches across the country, it prides itself on the perfect steak in casual and comfortable surroundings.
Thereâs a huge menu with a choice of starters, burgers, chicken dishes and specials and, it goes without saying, steaks using 48-day dry aged beef like a classic 350g sirloin and 500g porterhouse. Thereâs a âSizzlersâ selection with T-bone, fillet mignon, rump and more, and as well as beef, thereâs lamb, halloumi, and chicken options – and a Mozambique Prawn Sizzler, with Mozambiquan prawns served in a special sauce. All Sizzlers come with rustic chips, pasta or rice, onions and green beans or veg.

Bone and Block (Duke Street Market)
Bone and Block is a red meat concept restaurant based at Duke Street Market, so you know itâs super-relaxed, casual dining, and the food is top-notch.
You can order Iberico Pluma, acorn-fed pork with chimichurri; ham hock croquettes, and the best aged burgers with delicious beef dripping fries and black truffle and parmesan chips. When it comes to the beef, how about a 400g Dexter Ribeye, served with beef dripping fries, café Paris butter and watercress; or a rich and flavoursome 1kg Red Poll Cote de Boeuf, to share, in a bearnaise sauce?

Kassap Meat House (Bold Street)
Located on the iconic Bold Street, Kassap Meat House offers up the best in British produce, using Turkish cooking techniques. Every piece of steak is dry-aged for a minimum of 28 days and then hand cut by the restaurant’s master chef. And it’s not just steak you can enjoy here, there’s also a range of chicken, fish and vegetarian dishes too.

This place is Liverpool’s answer to an authentic Argentine steakhouse. The 120 cover restaurant is situated just off The Strand on Brunswick Street and all of meats on offer are flame grilled to perfection on charcoal Parilla, exactly to the tradition of Argentinian cooking.
