Style Award winner: The Ladies Day Style Award winner 2022 is announced
3 years ago
Apart from the racing, it was all anyone was talking about at Ladies Day at Aintree – the Style Award.Â
A huge number of racegoers entered this year’s contest, but there could only be one winner and that was Donna Mulligan.Â
She absolutely wowed the judging panel in an incredible red full-length cape gown and matching headpiece.
The dress was from Karen Millen, bag and shoes both came from LK Bennett and a local milliner custom-made her hat to complete a stunning outfit.
The runners-up, also looking fabulous, were Natalie Koromila – who plans to put her second place ÂŁ3,000 winnings towards her wedding in Santorini in September – and Josh Mac.
Donna, from Monaghan in Ireland, was presented with her award by Rosie Tapner and TV stylist Mark Heyes. She heads home from Aintree with a prize package including £5,000 in cash, a £500 Never Fully Dressed/£300 House of Cavani voucher, a luxury UK staycation spa break with Iconic Luxury Hotels, two Garden Club Tickets to Ladies Day 2023, a Randox Health package and a donation of £1,000 to her chosen charity.
There were so many amazing entries for this year’s competition, not just from fabulous ladies but some very dapper looking men too, so judges – including The Guide’s own Jay and Gemma – had a really tough job on their hands in choosing a final three and then deciding who would take first place.
Donna just stood out though and blew away everyone on the panel, including Corrie’s Helen Flanagan, Emily Maloney from Never Fully Dressed and Liverpool’s own boxing champion Natasha Jonas.
Jay said: “We have been involved with the Style Award for four years now and 2022 has definitely been the most difficult year in terms of choosing our winner because there was just so much effort and so many amazing outfits.
“Today’s winner just jumped out at us straight away. It was all about being noticeable, standing out and carrying that outfit to perfection and Donna definitely did that.”
