Cains bitter is back and ready to enjoy in some of Liverpool’s best loved venues this weekend
2 years ago
The first pint of Cains finest bitter will be served in Liverpool once again tomorrow (Friday June 24th) at the newly opened Cains Brewery following a multi-million pound renovation at the site where Robert Cain brewed the golden nectar back in 1858.
Cains is back – The beer they call ‘Liverpool in a pint’ has been missed by many since it disappeared from bars almost 10 years ago. Mikhail Hotel & Leisure Group, the new owners of the Cains Brewery development, are incredibly proud to be bringing this iconic brew back to life under a fabulous new management team. Their skilled team have poured their heart and souls into brewing Cain’s fine, handcrafted ales to be enjoyed in fabulous surroundings. Where customers can enjoy a pint of Liverpool’s finest while watching the brewing team in action through the viewing screen.
The first brew to be ready is Cains Finest Bitter, a prize-winning cask beer brewed to a traditional recipe. A dark and full-bodied beer which is refreshing and smooth. The Cains Lager will also be ready in around another weeks’ time and will be available to enjoy at all Mikhail Group Venues across the Northwest and in your own private tap room at the brewery itself.
The Baltic Triangle’s newest venue has a fabulous industrial Victorian feel and is spread across three floors filled with Cains memorabilia and two private tap rooms in which you can turn your hand to pouring your own pint of Cains Lager. The attention to detail does not go unnoticed with one reveller describing The Brewery ‘a visual treat’.
The Mikhail Hotel & Leisure Group, who have invested millions into some of Merseyside’s most striking venues including the grade ll listed Bold Hotel in Southport as well as Liverpool’s largest Irish bar, Punch Tarmey’s, The Brewery Tap and ArCains all based at the Brewery Village and Doctor Duncan’s based in Queen’s Square. The group are also currently transforming the iconic Southport building The Grand which will open next month.
When asked about the opening of the brewery Andrew Mikhail, Chairman of Mikhail Hotels & Leisure Group said, “Cains beer is synonymous with Liverpool, I love the Cains brand with the vivid yellow logo. The beer they call ‘Liverpool in a pint’ has been missed by many since it disappeared from bars almost 10 years ago. I feel incredibly proud to be bringing this iconic brew back to life and I’m sure that there are many Real Ale fans looking forward to enjoying that first pint of Cains this weekend.”
When asked whether the Cains Raisin Beer would also be making a comeback General Manager and Head Brewer Andrew Hayes stated, “The Raisin Beer was one of the best-loved beers Cains ever produced – and will be available very soon. We are excited to bring the original recipe back to life for all to enjoy.”
Brewery Tours are set to be available once the venue opens its door this Spring. We will also see the brew available at other well known and loved Mikhail Group venues throughout the North-West including Doctor Duncan’s, The Brewery Tap and Punch Tarmey’s.
