Smithdown Road
Running from Friday 11th to Sunday 13th October this event remains completely free giving local up and coming acts a great opportunity to perform to full crowds alongside some great local established acts.
A range of styles and acts will perform in venues along the famous road. Main stage for bands is the Handyman Bar and Brewery. Zetland will be performing their last ever gig in what they describe as their spiritual home. Festival favourites Mexican Dogs and Liverpool Indie Choir will be alongside debutants such as Clockwork Gibbons and Tuppenny Bunters. For the closing party at Handyman you’ll need your dancing shoes on as The Jesse Janes and Splintered Ukes provide some ukelele, blues and country fun.
Moving down the road Black Cat brings us a heady mixture of blues, jazz, garage rock, acoustic singalongs plus indie and house DJ’s until the early hours. Acts such as Olvine and Dead Raze are bound to bring the party. Sunday also sees the return of the Big Black Cat Hangover Quiz at 2pm, with host Che Burnley where you can win a £50 bar tab, or just a load of chip butties for your team. Perfect hangover cure!
