ThinK Wine Group overcomes adversity and welcomes hospitality expert to Non-Executive Board
12 months ago
After a difficult start to 2023, local business ThinK Wine Group are celebrating a successful last quarter.
Unfortunately, ThinK Wine Group were targeted by an American fraudulent investor, who didn’t deliver and left Director Katherine in financial difficulties.
Whilst Katherine is pursuing this through the appropriate legal routes, she has also had another legal issue to contend with as her supplier was stealing her stock in Italy.
However, with an influx of new corporate contracts, increasing international product recognition and pure resilience and determination, Katherine is now back on her feet and recruiting more staff to grow the business.
This includes a BDM with a background in hospitality marketing & events who will be focussing on North West England.
Katherine said:
“It has been a very challenging year so far, but I’m absolutely delighted to have managed to grow the business & the team, and I’m very much looking forward to what 2024 will bring. With the recent appointment of our new BDM, Bella, the growth plans we have tried to move forward with are now becoming a reality, which is brilliant for the products & our brand.”
This autumn has also seen a new Non-Executive Director joining ThinK’s current board of NED’s.
The newest Non-Exec Director is hospitality expert & entrepreneur Steven Hesketh, who will be joining Andrea Edwards, who is an established & recognised business coach, mentor & strategist, and Jim Forshaw, who brings his wealth of financial & managerial expertise to the board.
Steven has taken on numerous roles to promote and strengthen the North West visitor economy along with being a prominent and active voice within the hospitality Industry. He is a developed leader who now operators a trio of hotels and more recently set up a dedicated hospitality training company.
Steven said:
“Not only does ThinK Wine have a fantastic set of products, but I love the brand, it’s ethos & the team behind it. I’m looking forward to helping to grow the business & see ThinK wines stocked in more local, national & international venues over the next 12 months, through collaboration and the continuing hard-work.”
