Then grab your hat and scarf and explore the atmospheric streets of The Georgian Quarter this Christmas, it’s sure to feel like Dickens’ A Christmas Carol has come to life.

Here are a few places worth checking out!

For the spirit of Christmas

Liverpool Cathedrals
Liverpool Cathedrals

What better way to spend Christmas than at one of Liverpool’s remarkable cathedrals?

Midnight Mass from Liverpool’s Metropolitan Cathedral is live on BBC Radio 4 this year. And the First Eucharist at Liverpool Cathedral is always spectacular. But make sure to visit before December 24th.

Both cathedrals’ calendars are packed with Christmas events and services celebrating the true spirit of the season.

Is the cold weather making us hungry or does food taste better at Christmas?

Either way, The Georgian Quarter is more delicious than ever.

Between the spectacular 10th Day of Christmas menu at The Art School, the award-winning burgers at Free State Kitchen and The Pen Factory’s fresh winter dishes, there’s only one question.

Where will you try first?

From The Philharmonic and Peter Kavanagh’s to Ye Cracke, The Caledonia and The Blackburne Arms, you’re not short of traditional pubs to enjoy a swift one.

Check out the recently opened Queen of Hope Street if you want somewhere new.

Cinderella - What's on in liverpool - The Guide Liverpool

The legendary Everyman Rock n Roll panto is back with the story of Cinderella.

Expect sass, silliness and sparkle as rip-roaring Rock n Roll brings this classic fairytale to life.

Bursting with bangers that’ll get the whole family bopping, the Rock n Roll panto at The Everyman is a Christmas rite of passage.

The show runs until January 20th – tickets are £16 – £46. Book here.

For a night out

Meet your mates in this part of town for your pick of winter hot spots.

Get down to the sounds of festive Hope Street Jazz at Frederiks every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in December. Or feel the buzz of Liverpool’s latest musical talent head at Liverpool Arts Bar.

Save time for cocktails at Papillon, too. Their Ruby Tiger is spectacular.

For Breakfast

Whether you’re about to go on your Christmas night out or waking up from it, a good breakfast is a must.

A three-egg omelette from The Quarter or an all-day breakfast at Moose will see you right.

Both places do phenomenal fresh coffee if you need extra pep.

For a festive film

Christmas

It’s fitting that The Muppet Christmas Carol is showing at The Philharmonic Hall on Christmas Eve.

This is a Dickensian Christmas, after all. And no-one tells the famous tale quite like Rizzo and Gonzo.

The film starts at 11am on Christmas Eve.
