Cast’s new album charts in the top 10 ahead of Liverpool gig next month
9 months ago
Cast’s new album ‘Love Is The Call’ currently stands at #8 in the midweeks and is battling to achieve a Top 10 chart position.
The record looks set to land their highest chart position in 25 years, when 1999’s ‘Magic Hour’ completed their first trio of Top 10 albums. Having already completed six dates since its release, Cast continue to support ‘Love Is The Call’ in the coming days with eight sold-out record store events and another three added due to public demand.
John Power says:
“We’re thrilled and excited to see that ‘Love Is The Call’ has had such a big reaction. We’ve recorded what we think is the most exciting album we’ve made in years, and we’re looking forward to seeing you on tour.”
Fans eager to support the band’s push for the Top 10 can buy the album, with digital, CD, pink vinyl and green vinyl all on offer. All album bundles also include a signed 12” art print.
‘Love Is The Call’ is the product of a burst of inspiration from John, which saw him write a set of his best songs in years. He was joined by original members Liam ‘Skin’ Tyson (guitar) and Keith O’Neill (drums) for sessions at Space Mountain studios in Granada, Spain with the Grammy Award winning producer Youth.
The result is a set which blends accomplished songwriting that comes with experience alongside the liberated energy of a band half their age. Backing throughout the campaign has come from their old friend Liam Gallagher, plus a host of radio support (Jo Whiley at Radio 2, Craig Charles at 6 Music, John Kennedy at Radio X, Chris Evans, Graham Norton and Jayne Middlemass at Virgin Radio, and Absolute A20s) and a sweep of editorial coverage (NME, Brooklyn Vegan, This Feeling, XS Noize, NARC, The Indie Masterplanand Live4Ever).
Next month will see Cast play a UK headline tour, followed by a special guest slot during Liam Gallagher’s ‘Definitely Maybe 30’ tour in June.
