‘Movers n Soul Shakers’: A sober rave is coming 24 Kitchen Street
8 months ago
Liverpool’s iconic party venue, 24 Kitchen Street, is set to revolutionise the clubbing scene with an innovative event that aims to redefine the nightlife experience.
As the Spring Equinox approaches, “Movers n Soul Shakers” will debut on Sunday, March 24, offering an evening of sober partying, featuring breath work, meditation, sound therapy, and a dance.
“Movers n Soul Shakers” isn’t just another party; it’s a movement towards a healthier and more mindful approach to clubbing. Recognising the positive impact of dance on social, emotional, and identity development, the event promotes alcohol-free conscious clubbing as a credible alternative to traditional drinking-focused nightlife.
Sober raves have been gaining popularity across the UK and Europe in recent years, offering a refreshing change for partygoers seeking meaningful connections and authentic experiences.
The event will feature renowned DJ Nell Shakespeare, boasting 15 years of experience entertaining crowds in Ibiza. Nell will kick off the evening with a musical journey, warming up the crowd with some classic tracks to set the mood.
Legendary DJ Andy Carroll, known for his contributions to iconic venues like Quadrant Park and Cream, will take revelers on a nostalgic trip down memory lane – all without the need for alcohol. With 21 summers of experience in Ibiza, Andy brings his signature sound to prominent venues worldwide, captivating audiences with his infectious beats.
Following the dance session, sound therapist Geniene Azalea, accompanied by Jake Jervo, will lead attendees in a blissful hypnotic sound bath experience. Drawing from a decade of meditation teaching experience, Geniene’s soothing sounds aim to unleash feel-good hormones, providing a rejuvenating and immersive sonic journey for all.
“Movers n Soul Shakers” is more than just a dance party – it’s an opportunity for like-minded individuals to connect, express themselves, and share the joy of movement. Jake Jervo, a resident drag artist from local LGBTQ Club Night Sonic Yootha and a key member of the Movers n Soul team, emphasises the transformative power of dance as a form of therapy.
“Dance is a form of therapy for me, and I can’t wait to share our music and sound baths and just have a dance with some new souls,” says Jake Jervo, highlighting the event’s focus on fostering connections and creating a vibrant community through conscious dancing.
