Meet the wellness coaches from Liverpool who want to provide the tools to bring you balance
7 months ago
Wellness and breath work are experiencing a surge in popularity, captivating individuals worldwide with their profound benefits for both mind and body.
Self Care Sunday is coming to Liverpool this weekend, brought to you by two Liverpool wellness coaches; Abbey Shindler and Samantha Flynn.
In today’s fast-paced world, marked by relentless stressors and constant distractions, people are increasingly seeking solace and balance through practices that prioritise holistic well-being.
At the core of this trend is a growing recognition of the interconnectedness between mental, emotional, and physical health. While traditional forms of exercise and nutrition remain vital components of overall wellness, there’s a growing realisation that true vitality could extend beyond the physical realm.
In today’s hyper-connected world, many individuals find themselves disconnected from their own breath, often breathing shallowly or irregularly due to stress or anxiety. Through intentional breath work practices, individuals can reestablish a harmonious relationship with their breath, fostering a sense of inner calm and resilience in the face of life’s challenges.
The COVID-19 pandemic has underscored the importance of prioritising mental and emotional well-being. As people grappled, and still do, with heightened levels of stress, uncertainty, and isolation, practices that promote relaxation, resilience, and self-care have become essential tools for navigating challenging times.
In a world where the pace of life shows no signs of slowing down, these practices offer a refuge – a sanctuary where individuals can reconnect with themselves, find inner peace, and cultivate a deeper sense of well-being.
To bring the transformative benefits of wellness and breath work to Liverpool, Abbey, the founder of @pilateswithabbey, is hosting a special Self Care Sunday event. Participants will embark on a dynamic mat pilates class, followed by a breath work masterclass led by Samantha Flynn, the founder of @ibreathewithsammy.
Pilates has gained popularity for its incredible benefits, including improved strength, posture, and injury prevention. Abbey’s pilates class will provide a full-body workout, leaving participants feeling stronger and more uplifted. This will transition into Samantha’s guided breath work session, offering participants a chance to relax and connect with their breath.
Abbey Shindler said:
“Pilates has become so popular between men and women due to the amazing benefits, Pilates will strengthen and tone every part of your body leaving you feeling more confident and strong in your own skin.
“Pilates comes from your core also known as your ‘power house’ and everything else adds on from that, so with a stronger core your posture and old back pain will start to improve and disappear.”
Samantha’s journey into breath work began five years ago, and she has since experienced its profound impact on her mental, emotional, and physical well-being.
At the Self-Care Sunday event, Samantha will introduce participants to breath awareness meditation and gentle techniques like box breathing – a powerful tool for grounding and balance.
Samantha Flynn said:
“My teaching journey started 3 years ago, but my personal journey started 5 years ago.
“It helped me so much with my mind, daily life, connecting to my body, understanding my emotions and bringing myself into the present by being able to be in the moment away from anxious thoughts and overthinking.
“I think we are at a point where people are looking for an alternative. People are wanting tools to help them through their day to be able to help regulate their emotions, something that gives power to them.
“For the session on Sunday it will be about a breath awareness meditation. The first pilar in breath work is your awareness. We can’t make change until we are fully aware.”
The event will take place at ELEVEN:ELEVEN yoga studio on Cook Street, Liverpool, on Sunday, May 12, from 1.00pm – 4.00pm. Attendees will receive PWA-branded Pilates grip socks, gratitude and affirmation cards, as well as snacks and herbal tea.
Whether you’re new to pilates or breath work or looking to deepen your practice, this event offers the perfect opportunity to nurture your body, mind, and spirit.
