What big events in Liverpool in 2025 do we know about so far?

We’re still not done with 2024 but already 2025 is shaping up to be a brilliant one.
To help you get ahead of the game and filling up your diary now, here are just some of the big events in Liverpool in 2025 that we know about so far …
Sting On The Waterfront
Sting’s gig this summer for Radio 2 got fantastic reviews with a set combining solo hits, less well-known gems and, of course, The Police classics. On June 22 2025 the Grammy-winning legend will be headlining On The Waterfront at the Pier Head as part of his STING 3.0 world tour.

Africa Oye will return
Africa Oye is always one of the most anticipated free family-friendly events of the summer in Liverpool and the good news is it’ll be back again in 2025 celebrating African music and culture with a two-day festival in Sefton Park. Dates are still to be confirmed, but it’s traditionally mid-June.

There’ll be a major revamp of the Woodside Ferry Terminal
If you’re a traveller on Mersey Ferries then things will be changing for the better in 2025 because there’s a multi-million pound revamp of Woodside Ferry Terminal on the way. The work is due to be finished by summer and will include a new landing stage and upgraded passenger waiting area.

Creamfields is back with a huge new outdoor stage called HALO
Creamfields on August Bank Holiday weekend gets more ambitious every year and that’s definitely true for 2025. Tickets have already gone on sale and one of the top attractions will be the new outdoor mega stage – HALO – with mind-blowing immersive 360 video, lighting and sound.

Liverpool Empire will welcome Hamilton & Matilda
Two of the biggest smash hit musicals in the West End are heading to Liverpool Empire in 2025. Lin-Manuel Miranda’s hip-hop and rap infused multi-award winner Hamilton is in town for an entire month, from May 6 to June 7, and the stage adaptation of Roald Dahl’s Matilda will be a Christmas treat from December 2 to January 4, 2026.

Anfield will be rocked by music royalty
Everyone still catching their breath after Taylor Swift and Pink at Anfield in the summer should get ready for a phenomenal treble in 2025. The Boss Bruce Springsteen kicks things off on June 4 & 7, then it’s Billy Joel on June 21, and Dua Lipa does two nights, June 24 and 25, as part of her Radical Optimism Tour.

Everton will open its new Bramley Moore Dock stadium
This is the final season for the Blues at their Goodison Park home but the new one is looking absolutely magnificent. Turfing the pitch started this October and Bramley Moore Dock stadium, which will hold just under 53,000 fans, is on target for the first match of the 2025/26 season.

Red Rum Club play Aintree Racecourse
This has been an incredible year for Liverpool favourites Red Rum Club including a massive gig at the M&S Bank Arena and on May 16 2025 they’ve got their biggest hometown outdoor gig to date lined up at Aintree Racecourse. Appropriately enough, they’ll be playing the Red Rum Garden.

World Championship Boxing will launch in Liverpool
Liverpool loves a pro fight night and in September 2025 the city’s going to be hosting the first ever World Boxing Championships for Elite-level men and women. On at the Arena from September 4-14, it’ll feature contests in 10 different weight classes in an Olympic-style title event.

The Grand National is back in April
If you’re a keen fan of the National you won’t need any reminding that it’s back in April, you’ve probably already got your outfit sorted! The 2025 festival is on from April 3-5 and tickets are already on sale, with Opening Day on the Thursday, Ladies Day on Friday and the Grand National on Saturday.

Liverpool band Cast will support Oasis on tour
Anyone who was lucky enough to get tickets to see Oasis (and didn’t get kicked off the Ticketmaster queue) is in for a Scouse bonus because fellow 90s legends Cast have been announced as the support for the entire UK & Ireland tour across 14 dates in July and August 2025.

Southport Flower Show will be back
Southport Flower Show is always a summer highlight and it’ll return to Victoria Park from August 14-17 with celebrity gardeners and chefs, show gardens, floral displays, family-friendly entertainment and loads more. Carole Baxter and George Anderson of BBC’s Beechgrove Garden are already confirmed.

Kylie, Bryan Adams, Peter Kay and Disney On Ice all return to the M&S Bank Arena
The calendar’s filling up with fabulous names already at the Arena so 2025 looks like being a top class year there. There’ll be much Padaming when Aussie pop queen Kylie brings her Tension tour to Liverpool on May 22, Bryan Adams will Roll with the Punches on May 16, comedian Peter Kay returns on November 22 and the magic of Disney On Ice is one for the whole family on March 6-9.

Cream Classical Ibiza will headline On The Waterfront
The Pier Head will be filled with Ibiza club anthems given a stunning classical production when Cream Classical Ibiza headlines On The Waterfront on June 21. The 50-piece Kaleidoscope Orchestra and vocalists will join a stellar line-up of DJs for an unmissable concert.

Peter Kay at M&S Bank Arena
Peter Kay brings his record-breaking tour to the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool on 21 and 22 November 2025.
Peter’s tour, which started in Manchester, December 2022 has already broken records: remarkably he’s just completed his 100th show at the Manchester AO Arena breaking all attendance and performance records and, astonishingly, Peter is the first artist in the world to perform a monthly residency at The O2, London, performing 45 shows, the most played by any artist in the venue’s history.
