Sefton Council is saying ‘We’re Here’ as a reminder for anyone who is looking for support

Sefton Council is reminding people in Sefton who may be looking for support, We’re Here still.

The We’re Here media campaign links residents to Sefton Mind, a directory of local and national organisations through which they can access wellbeing support services – ranging from peer support groups, counselling and bereavement support, to help with finances or drug and alcohol use.

From Monday 27th January, people will again see We’re Here adverts across Sefton – on local buses, bus stop digital screens, phone kiosks and in supermarkets. Ads will also appear on Facebook, Instagram, Spotify and an array of public websites for Sefton residents. The ads enable people to access the Sefton in Mind Directory – hosted by Sefton CVS – via a single click, or simply by scanning the QR code.

Originally launched in 2023, the first phase of the We’re Here campaign saw over 1,300 visits to Sefton Mind, from more than 900 people, over a six-week period.

Cllr Mhairi Doyle, Sefton Council’s Cabinet Member for Public Health and Wellbeing, said:

“We know that as many as one in six of us experience a mental health issue in a given week. We’re Here aims to help people find the advice and support they need.

“By using the QR code or clicking the link, people can find out about a broad range of local help and support for a wide variety of issues.

“And they can find contacts for more immediate support if needed in a crisis.”

In 2023, We’re Here adverts were seen by thousands of residents – on sites across Sefton, such as buses, telephone kiosks and on Merseyrail. Targeted radio ads were heard nearly 32,000 times on a range of stations, including Radio City, Magic and Greatest Hits Radio.

Local shops and businesses  displayed We’re Here stickers in their windows to support their customers. A digital ad van and a promotional team also visited a number of locations across the Borough.

Cllr Doyle added:

“Sometimes we can be having difficulties with our mental health but not really know what’s going on.

“Through “We’re Here” we want to give those people who may be worried or scared somewhere they can go, to talk to people who understand what they are going through.

“Each of those 1,300-plus visits to Sefton Mind we saw previously may have helped someone from Sefton find ways to deal with how and what they are feeling.”

The new campaign starts on Monday 27th January and lasts for four weeks, although the re-launched Sefton Mind directory will remain live after the campaign.
