White-collar boxing night returns to raise funds for Paul’s Place
1 day ago
Liverpool’s Pub Invest Group is gearing up for an action-packed night of white-collar boxing, with the Industry Rumble taking place at Fusion Nightclub on Monday, 31 March 2025.
This event isn’t just about the fierce competition – it’s about raising vital funds for Paul’s Place, a bereavement support program run by Beacon Counselling Trust, offering free specialist therapy and support for those bereaved by suicide in Merseyside.
Participants, including Pub Invest Group staff, family, and friends, will undergo an 8-week intensive training program starting at the end of January at the Engine Room Gym on Picton Road.
Fighters are sponsored, with 100% of proceeds going directly to Paul’s Place, helping to fund the essential support and counselling they provide.
How You Can Get Involved:
- Become a Fighter – Train, compete, and raise funds for a great cause.
- Sponsor a Fighter – Support an individual and contribute to their fundraising efforts.
- Attend the Event – Entry is donation-based, encouraging attendees to give generously.
- Donate on the Night – Additional fundraising activities will be taking place throughout the event.
Andrew Okell, Paul’s Place Community Engagement and Support Lead, said:
“It’s great to see Pub Invest Group using their well-established boxing event to encourage their team to break barriers and engage in conversations about mental health.
“By participating, they’re also raising essential funds for our Paul’s Place Bereavement Support Programme at Beacon Counselling Trust, which provides free specialist therapy and support for those bereaved by suicide in Merseyside. Events like these make a vital difference, and we are incredibly grateful for their efforts.”
Paul’s Place provides crucial support for those dealing with bereavement from suicide, offering free specialist therapy, group sessions, and outdoor therapies. In the past year alone, they have received 113 referrals, delivered 1,141 therapeutic sessions, and hosted over 80 holistic group sessions.
Philip Gillespie, Pub Invest Group Marketing Manager added:
“Mental health awareness and breaking down the stigma surrounding mental health is something close to our hearts here at Pub Invest Group.
“Paul’s Place does such a fantastic job in Liverpool and we are looking forward to raising as much as possible for the charity while also offering those that take part a chance to spread awareness about the impact of mental health issues as well as potentially offering a space during the training sessions to discuss issues too.”
This is your chance to make a difference while enjoying a night of thrilling entertainment. Whether as a sponsor, participant, or attendee, your support directly impacts the lives of those in the Merseyside area.
