The Bluecoat’s new online shop features exclusive merchandise inspired by their iconic building, including Bluecoat Cherub tote bags and t-shirts, just in time for Valentine’s Day.
Visitors and fans of the UK’s first arts centre can now own a piece of the Bluecoat’s heritage, and show their love for Liverpool city centre’s oldest building. Available on shop.thebluecoat.org.uk are a selection of limited edition prints, posters and books selected from the Bluecoat’s vast archive, brand new merchandise inspired by the Bluecoat’s beautiful building and heritage, and artist commissioned postcards, designed by Joshua Henderson, a member of Blue Room, the Bluecoat’s inclusive arts programme for learning disabled and neurodivergent artists.
In line with the Bluecoat’s values and commitment to reduce their carbon footprint and increase sustainability, all of the newly created merchandise is ethically sourced, made from eco friendly materials, with recyclable packaging, using local companies and UK based businesses.

The future of the Bluecoat shop will include artist commissions, new ranges of merchandise, and more items from the archive. The Bluecoat shop is currently online only, but visitors will be able to pick up gifts from the building in the near future.
The Bluecoat online shop is part of our larger project ‘A Cultural Heritage for Liverpool‘, made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National Lottery players, we have been able to undertake a period of research and development to find out how we can use our building’s rich heritage to become more resilient.
