Salt and Tar’s highly anticipated Music Weekender has announced that Ocean Colour Scene will headline on Sunday 10th August.
Ocean Colour Scene will be joined by a fantastic supporting line-up, featuring Cast, Keyside, and The Solaas, for what promises to be an unforgettable night of live music in Bootle.
Ocean Colour Scene’s live performances have long been celebrated as some of the most extraordinary experiences in modern rock. The band remains one of the most successful and beloved of their era, with a legacy that spans decades.
After six years of refining their sound, Ocean Colour Scene became a defining force of the Britpop movement, releasing three Top 5 albums. They also enjoyed a remarkable run of nine successive Top 20 singles, including the timeless classic ‘The Riverboat Song’.
In recent years, the band has continued to captivate audiences, drawing inspiration from soul, folk, and blues greats. They even took the legendary Martha Reeves and The Vandellas on tour in 2018.
Frontman Simon Fowler said:
“We couldn’t quite believe that Martha Reeves was supporting us – it seemed absurd! But our crowd loved it, she went down really well.”
Salt and Tar’s Music Weekender is quickly becoming a must-attend event on the UK festival calendar.
This year’s Sunday line-up is particularly special, featuring acts that already have deep ties to Salt and Tar. Cast will make a highly anticipated return to the venue following their 2023 headline performance, promising another unforgettable show.
Rising talents Keyside, who recently supported Red Rum Club, will bring their dynamic energy to the stage, while The Solaas are set to make their Salt and Tar debut.
Tickets for Ocean Colour Scene’s headline show will be in high demand, with a special pre-sale starting Wednesday 5 February at 10am for members of the Salt and Tar mailing list.
General sale begins Friday 7 February at 10.00am.
Accessible tickets will be available via Ticketmaster.
This latest announcement further cements Salt and Tar’s reputation as a leading destination for live music, culture and art helping to put Bootle firmly on the map.
As part of the ongoing regeneration of the area, events like this showcase its transformation and bright future.
